Molten_Moron, 1 year ago to linux in what's a normie KDE distro? Well, judging by the fact that it gave me my favorite (and current (Mint)) distro on the first try, I’ll say this tool is pretty solid lol

Molten_Moron, 1 year ago to linuxmemes in Linux mint = best beginner distro I recently started using Mint after years on Debian. I may be weird here, but it has quickly become my favorite distro. It’s snappy and super user-friendly, plus it’s been de-Ubuntu-d. Out of the box Flatpak support is just nice to have, and Cinnamon is a sweet de.

Molten_Moron, 1 year ago to linux in What would be the best way for me to recover data from my old laptop's hard drive, which seems to have a bad superblock? As others have said, first make a full copy of the disk so you’re not working on a failing drive. Then, I highly recommend DDRescue

Molten_Moron, 1 year ago to linuxmemes in usb formatting I haven’t touched dd since I read that about a year ago, super interesting! For people that use dd because they like the progress bar, I highly recommend pv.

Molten_Moron, 1 year ago to linux in What is the easiest way to try all the DEs? Sadly distrotest is gone, but distrosea.com is a semi-decent replacement. Doesn’t seem quite what you’re looking for, but may be worth a look!
