Nemo, to asklemmy in People of Lemmy that take more than 5 seconds to start your car and drive, what are you doing?

Making sure all the kids are buckled.

Nemo, to asklemmy in Non-religious Republicans of Lemmy, how do you reconcile your non-religious convictions with a party that bases a lot of its policies on religion?

So, you agree with me in the last paragraph, but called me stupid first? Get away from that reddit mentality, friend.

Cars are not useful to society, though, they are actively harmful. They create sprawl and discourage walkability, pollute with participate as well as light and sound, and as we were discussing, are the leading cause if death for children in the US. Cars are useful only to individuals, at the expense of wider society.

If you want to stop children from dying, banning cars and sugary drinks would go a lot farther.

Are there other people enforcing Rule 3 or am I just aggressive enough about it that it made such an impression?

Either way, I’m pleased.

Nemo, to asklemmy in What kind of wearable device do you want? Assuming it will work and feel like you imagine it would

I once went outside on a foggy day and thought, wow, this render distance is terrible

Nemo, to asklemmy in What makes video games addictive for you?

Lots of things. But if I notice a game becoming addictive for me, I stop playing. I know too many addicts.

Love it, subbed.

Nemo, (edited ) to fuck_cars in What modes of transport do you really like?

Bike and it’s not close. I’ve loved being on my bike my whole life, ever since it was the easiest way to get to the public library as a youth. My hometown had a beloved, beautiful, and very extensive bike trail system, and in addition to my use of it for transit, my family would ride it together for fun every Sunday. At peak usage as an adult rider, my daily commute was ~27 miles. Currently it’s 9, but I do a lot of errands and shopping and recreational riding as well.

Second place is walking.

Nemo, to asklemmy in Why does lemmy seem better for engagement and conversation then (I meant than) Mastodon

Because microblogging is about shouting into the void and threaded fora are about conversation.

I had a couple of these in the tank from an Ask muni a few weeks ago. They’re up where they belong now!
