Seeing the other post here about YouTuber that went downhill and seeing content creators I am familiar with makes me sad. But how about those that still makes great, high quality content?
Just went down the aliexpress rabbit hole again. Theres really everythinf for some of really niche things that i wouldnt ever buy, but some things really do look appealing. I wonder what do you guys use daily thats worth lets say under $20
Boost can display new comments in a different color. I don’t know how I lived without that feature for so long. Any other apps that can do that?
Last time I used Connect and Voyager (a few weeks ago) they couldn’t do that. They were nice otherwise, but Boost seems to do everything they do and more.
By commercialism, I’m aiming at a mix of spending a lot and sifting through bloated business models (e.g. this or that accessory/equipment, microtransactions, etc.). Feel like many can relate to this sort of commercial fatigue, and yet it creeps even into hobbies where one tries to unwind....
I've got a nephew who is 3-something years old. He's really into airplanes. All of the ideas of gifts I've found have either been books (I give him books, but I'd like to give him something interactive) or toys that are way above his age level....
A poster with pictures of airplanes, that you hang up on his playroom wall. And then you look at the planes together and name them every time you visit. That’s awesome fun for a 3 year old.
Good morning, English isn’t my first language and it happens quie often that I need to select a good chunk of text to translate it with DeepL, why, in often cases, is impossible but select the title of an article that Lemmy’s bot has summarised? I would appreciate, and I am pretty confident I am not the only one, if the...
Panache is the ability to show off in a more or less entertaining way, depending on talent. It’s a fine line between panache and cringe, and what counts as panache in one social circle might be worthless in another.
Charisma is the ability to stand out and capture people’s attention, and eventually their respect, admiration and devotion, just by the way you move, speak, act and present yourself and your ideas. If you think you have it, and you actually do, you can influence a lot. However, if you think you have it but it’s not true, then you are probably a narcissist surrounded by yes men.
Study a few pages every day of whatever is not motivating, and keep going for months and months
Have a vision of what you want to do later with that skill (for example "6 months from now, I program an app that can send Morse code through my phone’s flashlight ")
Every day, do the studying chores first, THEN do the fun stuff like playing video games or scrolling through social media. Never the opposite
Spend more time with those that have similar goals
As per title… You have a working new comment counter, but unless I’m blind (please show I’m blind), the actual new comments don’t get highlighted when you go into the thread.
Boost for Lemmy does it and it’s an awesome feature. I installed both Connect and Boost on my phone, but I find myself using Boost the most because the new comments are highlighted
When I receive a Lemmy email notification on my phone, and I click on the link inside, it goes to the webpage in my browser, instead of opening in the CONNECT app. How do I reassign that? I’m using Google Pixel 7 with Android 13

Do Posts Expire?
I’ve tried to comment on older posts, but I get an unknown error warning on some of the older ones. Some only a day old

Add option to not auto-load videos while on mobile data
As the title says, I’d like Connect to not automatically load videos while I’m browsing without WiFi to conserve my monthly mobile data a bit better.
