I vividly remember when a friend of mine who runs a small graphic design studio was sent an archive file macOS couldn't open natively and asked me for help. Never having used a Mac and without any clue as to which tools the stupid app shop (which was rather new at the time) held, I couldn't for the life.of me get the blasted thing to obey me, until I found a terminal. I then installed build utils and compiled the frickin' unpacker I needed myself since it only had Linux binaries. Worked like a charm.
Well, Lemmy is really not good at pushing new content/new posts and/or new communities to people. For many of us, that might be a boon: less algorithmic shenanigans, less "steering" of the user. Yet, if you are not a user who likes to actively seak out stuff, your feeds will look stale and slow-paced very quickly. There might be new stuff,.but the feeds struggle to find a middle ground between "only the upvoted stiff you subscribed to", "the always same server wide top posts" and "bleeding edge new stuff". It's also very reluctant to sprinkle on new communities.
I think that's a main contributor to the decline.
For the record: kbin is more liberal when it comes to that sort of stuff. So if you like a more active feed, you might want to try kbin. If you like your feed to be controlled by you more, use Lemmy.
The last appearance of "Keck" I came across:
Doch auch am nächsten Tach - ach, du Schreck! -
wird ab acht wieder keck das Dach gedeckt. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPv1FTSmYNo
That's not picky about wording.
While I agree that stuff like that should not exist at all in no way whatsoever, there is a vast difference between it existing because someone abused a child, recorded that and thus scarred the child for life, or if someone made a computer make up pixels in a way that is disgusting.
Secondly: no, we don't have evidence that this might decrease the danger for pedophiles to act on their desires, since the technology is rather new.
Of course we should not enable urges like that. Yet, we have to be realistic: there will always be those that can't be treated. Do you want those who cannot be stopped from indulging in their desires to do so on children's images by real, abused children, or do you want them to vent on made up images?
That's a rather useless contribution to the discussion. The initial argument was a line of reasoning why artificial csam might be a benefit so people can vent their otherwise harmful behavior without harming actual people. You just flat out responded "it is enabling and doesn't stop distribution". So you just responded with "no, u wrong". Care to tell us you reasons behind your stance?
Thanks mate! My wife and I always were a good team but we strengthed our bond during her pregnancy significantly, so I don't even need to look out for myself, she'll do that and vice versa. I'll send her to bed/eat/shower and take over completely to afford her that break she didn't even realize she needed and she'll do the same for me. Without this dynamic, those last days would have been immensely draining. The way things are, they've been a warm and snug experience for our little family <3
