Ookami38,

Except in some power systems where it does.

Ookami38,

At least it has some color lol

Ookami38,

Looks boiled to temp and covered with pepper. So you’ll have bland, rubbery chicken with a bit of pepper and no flavor from browning.

I think they’re saying the whole meal has a “soft” texture. The theme of the meal is soft, thus it’s thematically soft.

Ookami38,

I think the most generous interpretation of what they seem to be trying to explain is the “phantom plans” created from loaning loaned money.

A deposits 1k into bank Bank loans B 1k B loans C 500

There’s only 1k in circulation, 500 in B’s hands and 500 in C’s, but there is technically 1500 in total loans.

I could be off base that this is what they’re talking about, and I don’t necessarily think it’s all that relevant to the conversation, just spitballing.

Ookami38,

I think a better goal may be to make plans affordable. Loans are a valuable tool, if they’re at a decent rate, so restructure them. Interest never compounds. Rates have to be reasonable. Payments always come out of principle, with interest tacked on and paid at the end of the loan’s life. It’s also a reeeeeeally hard task to say just “make things affordable”

Ookami38,

Thank the lord for scalpers, honestly. Glad they were able to help some people get their stuff!

Ookami38,

Goddddddddd this and HBO. I’m already on your fuckin platform, show me the show. If you REALLY need to push whatever new BS cash grab you’ve got, put it in a new releases section.

Ookami38,

Yarrrrrrrrr I do like this option, lad, lass, or other.

Ookami38,

Ya know, I barely shop on Amazon anymore, I should go ahead and cancel that…

Ookami38,

Not with ads there isn’t.

Ookami38,

I think you pretty well nailed my view of contentedness with your paragraph starting “if you’re lonely…”. That’s pretty much how I see it. It’s a state of being okay, despite some needs not being met in the moment. Tend to urgent needs, be ok with some less urgent ones sitting for a bit, accept things you have no control over, and work towards bettering your position overall, instead of sitting and wallowing in the self-pity mire.

I’m sorry that therapy hasn’t worked out for you. I do acknowledge that not every kind of therapy works for every person, or for every problem. I only truly made progress when I found a very specific type of therapy that resonated for me, doing a lot of that journey on my own, and finally bringing it into a therapist office when I reached the end of what I could do alone.

I hope your life path has you moving towards something you consider better, however that looks for you.

Ookami38,

You have needs that go unfulfilled all the time. You’ve never been hungry without any immediate food? Part of being content is being able to go without needs for a certain period of time, being safe in knowing that it ISN’T going to be forever.

This, of course, doesn’t mean you can forego every need forever. Yeah, being without food or water too long can and will kill you, but that doesn’t mean you have to have that need 100% met 100% of the time.

Of note, I’m not saying that people just shouldn’t eat. That’s the kind of need that we as a society should have figured out by now, truly. But going without SOMETIMES okay, and learning that is huge.

Ookami38,

It is what it is, with more steps, some emotional processing, and some self-analysis to find out why it being what it is is so annoying to you, maybe.

Ookami38,

Thanks for your message! I’ll take a look at that app, for sure. I’m leaps further than I was, but not where I’d like to be. Hope you have an excellent day, friend!

Ookami38,

I’m in a unique and enviable position where my work is basically nothing on the day to day. It pays enough to get by, barely, but it gives me so much free time that well… That aspect of work makes me happy lmao

Ookami38, (edited )

It’s hardly dismissive. If there’s a lack of unions in a field, how does that problem get resolved? By starting one.

Sure they could provide more resources and information , except oh wait, someone else literally a post above did.

No one ever said starting one is easy, like anything worth doing it’s a LOT of work, but that’s a complete different matter than the comment being “actively unhelpful, [or] dismissive”

Edit:it was the same guy who posted the comment with more information. Maybe instead of you being actively unhelpful and dismissive, ask questions about the process, seek help, and don’t just dismiss what someone else said.

Ookami38,

Money can’t directly buy happiness, but it certainly smooths out the path. Also, money may not be able to buy happiness, but not-money can’t buy anything.

I agree with you that the pursuit of an ever-increasing bank account is probably not a route to happiness (or more importantly contentedness, happiness is fleeting), but the reality of our world is that not having a livable amount of money tends to put direct blocks in front of your contentedness, which having money tends to dissolve.

Ookami38,

Yeah it was a Chinese woman and her child. I linked it further up, but from the sounds of it maybe don’t go looking for my link lol

Ookami38,

Que?

Ookami38, (edited )

They could also be referring to the time a woman threw her child clear from a failing elevator and then got promptly consumed. Happened in China.

Edit to add:

Could also be this one. Turns out there’s a lot of incidents of people being monched.
