OsrsNeedsF2P, to linux in Reddit API blew up and now I run Linux?

This is the way…?

OsrsNeedsF2P, (edited ) to linux in GNOME and AppIndicator/system tray

Gnome spends a lot of time testing user designs that are simple and get the task done for the 99% marketshare they don’t have. They try not to be bound by our current approach to computers, and instead idealize what most of the world actually wants.

I think it’s a noble goal but will never touch it. I’m surprised other people do. That said, I’ll always support them because of how much they upstream.

OsrsNeedsF2P, (edited ) to lemmyshitpost in The lamest countries

Well yea, to be fair if half these Redditors Lemmies lived in the Middle East they would be calling for the genocide of the US after what happened in Afghanistan and Iraq

Points to who started the war…

OsrsNeedsF2P, (edited ) to memes in Taking for granted

This is pretty dumb advice, because someone who’s hopping every 2 years and getting passed on interviews is still getting more interviews than someone who’s not applying at all.

OsrsNeedsF2P, to linuxmemes in Need to switch to Hanna Montana Linux now

Damn, guess I should go back to Windows /s

OsrsNeedsF2P, to linux in Unity’s Open-Source Double Standard: the ban of VLC

x * 1.25 = 1.25x

1.25x - (1.25x * 0.25) = 0.9375x

(I know you’re memeing, but growing 25% then cutting 25% is actually a significant net-cut)

FIRE people know

OsrsNeedsF2P, to linux in The Wine development release 8.21 is now available.

It’s not fully in wine yet, so it’ll be a while before it’s in Proton.

Not that there’s any rush, Xwayland works fine for 99% of use cases

OsrsNeedsF2P, to memes in Why? Are we not doing enough?

This

OsrsNeedsF2P, to memes in Please, not again.

Anyone else’s brain autofill an adjective here?

OsrsNeedsF2P, to asklemmy in why does open source companies like canonical and opensuse don't host their own fediverse instances?

Big companies are slow.

It will take years of the community requesting for it (on the non-federated platforms) unless someone really high up in the right org has a personal interest in doing it.

OsrsNeedsF2P, to linux in Linux in the corporate space

My past 2 jobs have been Linux Desktop. The one before that was WSL (ew)

OsrsNeedsF2P, to asklemmy in What has been the best thing that has happened to you so far?

Said screw it and moved to Korea.

I was incredibly lucky and met a Korean in school, so I was able to get all the info I needed about what to expect. I’ve been here 3 years now, sure I miss my family and friends but I’ve been granted a new life.

To anyone who thinks their life sucks: move. Everyone has an excuse, but at the end of the day you’ll either stay where you are until you die, or you’ll go somewhere new.

Yes, the point of the post is to call out selfish assholes
