Why is youtube recommending conservative "talking points" to me?

Hi, I am a guy in early thirties with a wife and two kids and whenever I go on youtube it always suggests conservative things like guys dunking on women, ben shapiro reacting to some bullshit, joe rogan, all the works. I almost never allow it to go to that type of video and when I do it is either by accident or by curiosity. My...

Those types of videos have the most engagement. YouTube is trying to show you whatever it thinks will keep you there longer.

Turns out conservative radicalization keeps people longer there. I’ve never googled or watched any Andrew Tate videos but my recommended has at least 3 videos front and center.

My father took up a side gig consulting for the Russian government. They paid him in envelopes of American $100 bills. Then he met a grad student and started an affair with her and then divorced my mom and left the family to move to his apartment in Russia then moved to China to raise his new child and then unsuccessfully attempted to sue my whole family and I for sharing the same last name with him “fraudulently”.

While I don’t agree with either extremes, I’m much more comfortable with hard left than hard right. Hard left isn’t actively established and trying to foment genocide in real time.

Every comment I would make on Reddit seemed to get challenged by someone looking to start a long-winded argument as they were, in fact, the main character of the universe.

I like it here because so far, people are nice. It’s like the first day of high school and everyone just wants to be friends and meet people.

It’s so hard to see from your perspective sometimes. Feels like everything’s a conspiracy haha. But you are 100% correct.

The “them” we feel is the sum of all human outcomes, personified as a discrete organism. Maybe all of humanity is one big mega-organism and thats the “them”.
