We’re talking about a vacation this summer so we can plan ahead. My mother (who will pay for it) said she’d love to go to Yellowstone, but it looks like it’s about a 24-hour drive for us. Still, I like the idea of going to a national park. We’re in Indiana, so this image shows about the limits of where we’re willing to...
One day of basically just walking around like a tourist isn’t quite the same as a 9-5 at even low intensity jobs
Also, he’s probably not able to find work, it’s the 60s-70s in the UK and Joe only ever worked at Wonka’s, odds are he doesn’t have the qualifications to work for anyone else, and anyone he might be able to are probably covered by the VERY intense NC order Wonka probably made his workers sign after the breach of his IP.
Samira was a child bride married at 15 and a victim of domestic violence. She had two young children, one a new-born baby, when she was arrested and had not seen her children in ten years. She saw them for the first and last time when they came to the prison to say goodbye....
He wished to be a prince, his royal entourage hypothetically included several people capable of assassinating Jafar on the order, it was just down to Aladdin being a stickler for being an active participant in proceedings that hindered him taking that less direct route.
Honestly I just like the idea of it because if someone decides they really want to grind for a bit they can now take up a second up to full time job without worrying about most of the shit employers will give you for that.
What I think should be the standard is a “full time” job being 18 hours in a week of work time, including commuting, with any time above every additional multiple of 18 immediately paying out as 2.5x the pay that’s been earned so far. Doesn’t just give people their free time back in spades, it also significantly discourages extorting workers for overtime instead of staffing adequately because now it’s literally more expensive to pay out any overtime at all than it would have been to just hire the additional worker at equal pay, and that effect ramps up exponentially too, by the time you’re at the soul grind of a 40 hour week you’ve already tapped your employer so hard it would have been cheaper to hire 5 additional workers than it was to make you work that 40 hour week.
Those stats are a result of shitty reporting by cops who are likely to just list any breed they can’t immediately give two fucks to confirm as a pit.
A rather famous incident quickly dropped off the radar once it turned out that the dog that attacked the victim was actually a golden retriever.
Not to mention how these stats are most of the time introduced as dogwhistles (ignore the pun) for similar mis/disinformation about black people since pits and pit mixes are frequently considered a “black people dog breed.”
A lot of the same framing too, “they’re too dangerous to be part of white society!”, “all they know is how to be violent!”, “they’re a danger to white women and children!”
I mean the other 2 countries, Canada and Mexico, how similar are both of them to United States?? Both countries have a similar economy and democracy etc, and I think those two countries share things like supermarkets, stores, etc. I suppose the cultural differences are not a lot, that is very nice.
Mexicans regularly joke about their northern states being wannabe Americans, the pacific northwest plays host to dueling movements that insist “Cascadia” should be its own country, I say dueling because they frequently differ on if this state should be a white ethnostate or a bio-regional communist hippytocracy.
The point here is that despite having some of the most well defined borders in the world, the North American trio are basically just a set of siblings in a spectrum from largely indigenous central Americans in the south of Mexico to the last flickers of Maritime Canadian Gaelge in Nova Scotia to Anchorage probably being one of the sneakily most important cities in the world geopolitically, and with infinite multitudes of spectrums between.
Two sibling eagles and their little sister jay who’s smarter than the both of them.
Apparently the girl from “girl next store” straight up went out to dinner with the other actors still in all the make-up effects of what was being done to her towards the end of the movie
At what point does the cost of tech migration outweigh the cost of training people on a more and more specialist paid language just to not have to migrate to a memory safe higher level language like C or Go or Rust or Lua.
Didn’t say python because oh sweet Jesus the slowdown alone would grind the global economy to a halt if we were running all our banking software on Python XD
That or go remote if there’s no productive reason why they need to be in the office and then just don’t have to pay for a non-existent commute
It’s actually kinda genius from the perspective of getting unneeded commuters off the road, because like hell are those middle managers willing to pay commute time just to be able to more effectively ride your shoulder at the office
Couldn’t you resolve that by just covering the airless part? Like just because we don’t have to inflate them anymore doesn’t mean we need to constantly be seeing how not-inflated it is
I feel like I’ve seen the concept work enough times on demonstrations that I’m justified wondering why I still gotta drag my butt to Mavis every few months
