Reminder that while the labour theory of value can be practical to understand certain aspects of society, it is still culturally biased and not “objectively” true.
What creates value can only be answered in a cultural framework.
In Germany (and other parts of Europe), there are systems in place to prohibit dependence of the broadcasters On the government.
The Austrian broadcasting service (ORF) is known to be quite sceptical of the conservative government. The former chancellor of Austria actually wanted to coopt it, like Orban did in Hungary and failed to do so. That’s basically, why he’s the former chancellor.
You can compare it to the European Central Bank, or the FED.
It’s not resistant to nepotism, but it’s way better than the corporate hellscape you see in the US media.
I really can’t stand Linux Cast’s style and don’t get why he is on this and not Brodie Robertson.
Linux cast is just rambling most of the time, having a hard time getting to the point, while Brodie has some wit and humor. I also don’t like his clickbait video titles and how every second video feels like it’s about tiling WMs (we get it: tiling WMs are cool).
I’m aware that this might just be an involuntary anti-fat bias speaking, though.
I meant line 2 (it’s actually a joke the math professors on the writing team of the Simpsons put in there: it doesn’t disprove Fermat’s Theorem, but most calculators at the time didn’t have the accuracy to cumpute that directly, which is kind of the joke)

I can try, but keepin mind that this will not be exhaustive:
The police’s job is to reinforce the current power structures and keep the people that currently are in power at the top. That has been their historical purpose, too. Dating back to the 1800s when they violently beat down strikes and workers’ protests. They are always “legitimized” by “the rule of law” without adressing how legitimate the law is. Speznaz, Gestapo and the Stasi all “upheld the rule of law”, but where highly immoral. The same goes for Frontex.
When the police acts immorally and/or breaks the law, the social structures most likely will prevent repercussions for those police officers. If you get beat up by police, other officers will pretty much always cover for their colleagues.
The image of the police’s job being to “protect and serve” is the result of active police propaganda (so-called “Copaganda”)
