Gotta keep the morale on the home front up. o7

Seriously, it was an industry in and of itself. WW2 was... something else. Total war.

Not sure. One imagines they're at least somewhat effective to have been in use for so long.

PugJesus, to historyporn in Geronimo driving a brand new Locomobile Model C, 1905
@PugJesus@kbin.social avatar

I'm not well-informed on the parade myself, just seems odd to include Geronimo as a uniting symbol at the time.

Does that mean that you parttaking in an exploitative society by contributing taxes and work hours to its economy makes you a capitalist pig?

There's a world of difference between serving as a soldier and serving as a worker.

If you think of it its pretty easy. Just dont work for them and dont pay taxes. If you think deserting to the soviets who most likely just put you in some kind of barn and starve you/send you back on the front as a human wave is acceptable it must surely not be that bad to not be a scourge on society.

Great Nazi apologia. "The alternative is possibly dying q.q so it's better to fight and possibly die for genocide instead!"

PugJesus, to historyporn in Soviet sniper Lyudmila Pavlichenko, one of the most successful snipers in history, WW2
@PugJesus@kbin.social avatar

She was a Ukrainian sniper conscripted by the Soviet Union. Get your fucking facts straight, OP. Fuck Russia.

The Soviet Union included the Ukrainian SSR. If I had mistakenly meant she was from the Russian SSR, I would have said so. Furthermore, she was a volunteer.
