The problem with eating meat is not the eating meat. I don’t give a fuck if someone eats meat from an animal that hasn’t suffered, that was free and in its natural habitat. I don’t know if I would myself because after 15 years of not eating meat I don’t think I’d still like it, but it’s not unethical. The problem is the untold amount of widespread suffering and cruelty of beings with emotions and sentience and attachments and capacity for both physical and emotional pain that is industrial livestock farming.
alt textComic strip of a ghost and a person with the American flag pasted on the head. The ghost repeats “Boo!” in the first three panels without getting any reaction, but when it in the fourth panel says “kg, cm, km, °C” the American gets scared and screams “AHHHH!!!”....
Who the hell knows how long a kilometer or meter is?
Everyone outside of America.
Everyone knows what a football field looks like
You’re either trolling or a living embodiment of the ‘Americans think the USA is the whole world’ meme. Nobody outside of the USA knows how long a football field is.
I have a disability and I’m a student so I have zero physical or mental energy to have a job next to my almost full time study. I used to just be broke all the time. I found out there’s a city government fund for people exactly like me, and it honestly so fucking crazy what that extra 300 euros a month does. It’s not just that I can afford necessities and something fun once in a while but it gives so much peace of mind. One of my cats was sick a few months ago and I could just take her to the vet and have her blood work done without having to stress about it.
Yeah they evolved to keep much more baby-like features into adulthood with a big head and huge eyes because that’s cute to us and triggers strong instincts of protection and love. I forget the exact name for it. And my cats do be looking extremely cute all the time so it was very successful.
I have two small friend groups of four and in both is someone who often works weekend, so that’s always fun trying to plan something, let alone if I want to have both groups somewhere. It was honestly a miracle I could get all 6 of them in one place at the same time somewhat close to my birthday.
I’m a teacher in training and in my internship this year I’m teaching first years (12 years old in my country). It’s actually so funny and interesting to me that they often ask me questions from a perspective I would’ve never thought about, just because they’re working with novel and limited information. I didn’t experience that at all when teaching year 3 or year 5 because they’re less of a ‘clean slate’.
I had a burn out and had been home recovering for about 4 months from January, and only slowly building back up since May, and have been back fully since late August, so it definitely feels like this. Time passes really quickly and unremarkably when you sit at home doing ‘nothing’.
