In a normal domain/DNS scenario, you need to make sure your domain points to the correct IP. Most registrars have websites where you can manage which domain points to which domain in the DNS records.

As far as I know, SP is an electron application and if you run Plasma in a wayland session, global keyboard shortcuts won’t work, unless you enable it in the Plasma settings.

NixOS on OnePlus 6 with Extra Steps, or the Diary of my Descent into Madness (pavluk.org)

My biggest blog post yet, and it’s about running (almost) vanilla NixOS on a (formerly) Android phone! This was 50% fun and 50% exhausting… you solve one issue and another one crops up right away… it was certainly an interesting educational experience....

Thanks for the detailed response.

So nixpkgs is more akin to the AUR, then a binary repository? The AUR is also just build scripts.

I didn’t know NixOS had official aarch64 repositories. 😜

That’s already here with systemd 255 which released recently.

I actually thing that Fedora is your best bet here. Especially if you really need Red Hat based.

Isn’t the package manager the same on CentOS/RHEL and Fedora? I mean, they are all rpm based distributions. OpenSUSE is also rpm based btw.

Did not happen to me when I updated on Arch. So might be a Neon quirk.

It uses the github cert, but that is not set to use the github.io subpages that start with www.

I think maybe Enlightenment can do that, but I’m not sure.

Normally workspace definitions are systemwide not monitor specific. A workspace uses all monitors on the system.

Workspace is not the same as Workstation…

I know newer versions of Spectacle can do short video recordings. But that’s a Plasma app.

I made it to Linux! What is your must-have FOSS or Free Software for linux?

Thank you so much, comrades! I am feeling pretty comfortable with linux mint, and now would like some suggestions for some absolutely necessary FOSS or free license software for the OS. So far I have the standard, Firefox, ThunderBird, LibreOffice, yada yada. Thank you again to everyone on the linux comm! sankara-salute

I’ve had no issues saving to same folder as source when doing batch transcoding queues on Arch Linux. As long as the input and output files does not have the same filename it’s fine.

I just realized you might be talking about the CLI version? I’m talking about the GUI version.

The couple of apps I use through flatpak has not had any issues as far as I can tell. Other than maybe being a little slow to get pushed to the newest version.

Maybe stock Ubuntu?

It’s pretty new. Has wayland and pipewire. You can just enable a checkmark in the installer to install codecs. Uses Gnome, so a non-Windows like workflow. Pretty sure Eduroam would work there, as many schools use Ubuntu by default.
