I think it’s a very personal choice but NA beer just makes me miss normal beer. I’d rather drink seltzer most of the time and have real beer when I feel like drinking. Plus I’m pretty careful about watching my weight and I avoid empty calories where I can.
IMO it depends on what you’re buying. Exercise and training to compete in sports that I do brings me some of the most happiness I have in my life, so buying sports equipment really does improve my happiness because it lets me do what I enjoy. I enjoy astronomy and just bought my first telescope recently and it has brought me a ton of joy. OTOH I have also been pulled into the cycle of buying shit because it’s new and shiny and once it transforms from a “new thing” into just a “thing”, it loses my attention.
I’ve been in education for a few years and can tell you that a lot (most?) of teachers are cheering on the inside when they see a bully get his ass beat. These school policies aren’t being set by teachers.
I only found him recently but he has really accelerated a path I was already on to becoming more conscious about plants and the role they play in our environment. I’m now in the planning phase of converting about 1.5 acres of lawn into native prairie and starting to manage some woods that I own so they’re more beneficial to wildlife.
