Both are silly made up holidays that promote values that I find largely offensive, especially at scale. The only holidays that I personally value are holidays that celebrate the history of a group and/or person, and slutoween/caplitalistmas are the exact opposite of that.
I am not an expert but I believe the temp threshold is for when proteins denature due to the ambient heat overcoming the strength of the bonds (mostly h-bonding i believe) that hold the protein in its specific tertiary structure and when you exceed it the proteins unfold/break

this is true, and would be good at least half the year so fair point but still need a good alt in winter. Still, cutting out half the year of car commuting is a lot better than nothing
That would be a neat trick since both of my grandmothers are dead! But yeah exactly the infrastructure is not only not built for biking but pretty hostile to it as well, not to mention that there is usually no dedicated space for storing a bike on location and theft is pretty high for bikes. The change to make biking viable is possible but the amount of inertia is high and would be at least as difficult as implementing widespread EV changes I would guess
Yeah I feel exactly the same way, as well as I find metal to just be super overbearing. Somewhat monotonous in a high-energy way, though I definitely cant say this as a generalization of the genre because i have probably been exposed to only a VERY small subset of it

Im not sure I even agree that visual pollution should be a real thing. People like to pretend that there is a divide between man-made structures and “nature” but humans are animals and we construct our environment out of natural materials. Humans ARE natural and the things we make are not separate from nature. Obviously that doesn’t remove our responsibility to avoid causing overall harm with toxic chemicals that pollute or structures that destabilize equilibriums, but that being said I dont think we should have this mentality about our structures being an inherent detriment to the area we make them in, and wind farms seem like a good example of good structures in a good environment to me. End rant.
but also the right snake with a decent setup could be one of the easiest pets to own! Not as resilient pr independent as a cat but the needs for something like a cornsnake are pretty minimal once you have a proper setup for it
I dont do this as often as the meme implies but I do stop and talk things over out loud sometimes, either to grapple with what I just heard or to follow a tangent thought to its conclusion before the podcast continues
