Why did someone see that I joined Signal? People who already know your number and already have you in their contacts see that they can contact you on Signal. Nothing is sent to them by your Signal app or the Signal service. They just see a number they know is registered. If someone knows how to send you an insecure SMS, we want them to see that they can send you a Signal message instead.
Why did I see that my contact joined Signal? You are notified when someone that is stored in your contact list is a new Signal user. If you can send an insecure SMS to a contact, we want you to know you can send a Signal message instead.
I’m also currently looking for one as we really want to ditch our Nvidia Shield Pro. However the shield has so many features and codecs that I’m unsure if there’s such thing.
Just wanted to share my experience as someone that just updated to a p8p with GrapheneOS.
This is the first time I install a custom ROM in a smartphone and it hasn’t been easy but I’m pretty impressed so far. I installed their sandbox Google Play/Services to keep using banking apps and other apps that need it. Everytime I install an app it asks if it should have internet access permission so I can use Gboard without the need to use NetGuard.
I can limit storage scopes for every app. If I want WhatsApp to only be able to access my Downloads folder, I can. If I want to trick it saying that it has access to my contacts, I also can.
The biggest issue for me now is probably install/use things in a way that just don’t throw all the OS purpose out of the window and without asking questions considering how awful people can be when they think a question is dumb.
I was a bit disappointed with the lack of microSD but I realized I probably wouldn’t use it. I also had to install a custom launcher to customize icons and such.
One thing that worries me is how to setup a way to find my phone in case I lose it.
Ok, so let me try again: OP didn’t say Netflix is FOSS. Nobody is saying Netflix is FOSS. OP is asking for something open source that can run proprietary software, which happens to be an alternative to Android TV. Your comment didn’t answer OP’s question and just added an unecessary and obvious comment which gives the idea that you are judging OP for utilizing proprietary software. If you are able to consume only free and open source software/hardware, good for you! That’s it, just make an attempt to be helpful and nice when people are trying to consume more open source stuff.
Edit: I saw that you actually gave an answer to OP afterwards. That’s nice!
Will Cromite be able to keep blocking ads when Manivest v3 roll out? I currently refuse to use Chromium browsers and I am trying to run Mull on my newly acquired Pixel with Graphene, but I’ve been having a few issues with it (constant crashes and such). I am aware the Graphene team doesn’t recommend Gecko based browsers but Vanadium is a nono for me since there’s no ad blocking on it so I am really struggling on which mobile browser to use.
It puts Google Play/Services inside a sandbox so it doesn’t get any priorities and can have permissions revoked like any other app (internet access/storage scopes/etc)
Sorry for the huge offtopic but as an expat living in north america I always wanted to ask: Isn’t Thanksgiving kind of problematic due to first nations genocide and such? I’d love some insights from my fellow beeples
