Seeing the other post here about YouTuber that went downhill and seeing content creators I am familiar with makes me sad. But how about those that still makes great, high quality content?
like you know you’re a good person at heart but life circumstances and trauma and bullying and etc prevented you from learning the proper social skills to find companionship. not necessarily a forum to actually find friends (i find going into things with that intention feels fake and weird), but rather a forum to commiserate...
I've given up personally. I don't know if it's life circumstances or me not being as good at heart as I'd hope, but I've resigned myself and I'm just trying to learn to cope with the loneliness. At some point it's fair to call it quits and start being realistic.
That's just me ranting though, this isn't directed at you, and I wish you the best of luck.
Similar to the recent question about artists where you can successfully separate them from their art. Are there any artists who did something so horrible, so despicable, that it has instantly invalidated all art that they have had any part in?
It's never been about proving trans and cis folks of the same gender are "identical", no one is arguing that, obviously there are some physical, biological differences. Differences that trans folks are painfully aware of, and that take a lot of time and effort to mitigate for many them to feel like themselves.
It's just about being accepted as, being seen, and talked to as the gender of your choosing.
People like Rowling who argue against the existence or the rights of trans folks overwhelmingly do so out of ignorance, fear, or simply malice. It's not a philosophical question, it's not up for debate whether trans people "exist", if you don't believe in them then you're just objectively, provably, scientifically wrong.
And if you agree they exist and still want to make their lives miserable, then you're just an asshole.
Oh I know all about that podcast trust me, it doesn't change my opinion about Rowling in the slightest, and it's far from being a good way to "understand this affair".
If you're genuinely curious, I highly recommend ContraPoint's video about that very podcast, as well as her other video about Rowling.
Her books already had some questionable shit in them but witnessing that shockingly venomous transphobia really recontextualizes everything. I used to re read the Harry Potter saga every few years, but never again now, this whole, very nostalgic for me franchise is forever ruined now.
Just found out the Switch I got a while back is a V1 model, meaning that it’s one of the Switches that’s able to be modified. I’m thinking of modifying it, but I’d like to know the upsides and issues first.
One of the downsides is that you'll be playing the Nintendo Switch.
Switch emulators are so good by now, the experience is nearly always better on PC. My Switch is one of the first models too but now that I don't play online Smash anymore, I really don't see what use I could have of a homebrewed console.
Beyond autism, that /s has become all the more necessary these days in the wake of this huge wave of anti-intellectualism. Outside of private circles, it's so hard now to tell the difference between absurd sarcasm and the genuinely ignorant takes some people proudly share, there's too much of an overlap between the two lol
On top of what everyone else said (I especially super agree with experiencing new things), I can recommend art, either experiencing it, or making it. Art is basically all about trying to capture or recapture a specific feeling, by heightening it.
Maybe the smell of roses doesn't move you much after all these years, but a well crafted poem, music, movie, or some video games (I guess Flower comes to mind for this particular example) can reignite some of that lost wonder. And if experiencing them isn't enough, you can always go after those feelings yourself, and make your own art, trying to bring back the sensations you miss the most. Heck, learning to cook an old dish a relative or friend used to make can evoke long forgotten feelings, "art" is a vague term.
I'm both getting older and suffering from really bad depression, and this sort of thing has been helping me cope with this loss of feelings.
Which YouTuber still creates high-quality videos to this day?

Is there a forum for people who are lonely and sad but specifically not incel sickos?

What are the pros and cons of modifying a Nintendo Switch?

Is it normal for a person to "feel" less as they get older?
I remember experiencing the world much more vividly when I was a little boy....
