It's a shame really. The Reddit hack really was the only way to get around all the SEO crap invading your search results.

Glad Google seems to be, at least briefly, realising the problem. People want actual answers, not useless crap designed to look like them.

As someone who browses KBin/Lemmy fairly often, I can't say I ever see massive amounts of Linux talk even on the All tab. Usually it's just pictures of cats and star-trek memes

I don't think it's so much that people have gotten dumber, there's always been dumb folk, but the age of social media has made them less fearful of looking stupid.

It is better to remain silent at the risk of being thought a fool, than to talk and remove all doubt of it.

I argue that since we never actually see the fall guy land, and that it is usually the landing (not the fall) that causes the pain, that the fall guy has not actually experienced anywhere near the pain being credited for.

Albeit I think they are suffering much more psychological pain, being almost perpetually falling, often with other potential threats right next to them. I imagine it must be traumatic to live through.

Personally I like the interface for Kbin. It has many of the features you want in modern forums, but retains a look reminiscent of older style forums. Though I can see it wouldn't be for everyone.

To be fair, the isolation stuff was mostly at the beginning when the exodus started, but I couldn't blame people for leaving when that started. Some people just want to be where everyone is.

I can't say I've experienced much issue with federation since the early times, but then again I wouldn't know what it looks like on the Lemmy side.

If I had to choose, I'd take a solid 30 FPS over a constantly stuttering 60 FPS any day, because stuttery frames can completely ruin your immersion.

I also find it odd that his best chance of going to prison isn't even related to the fact he tried to stage a coup.
Any other person, it would've been treason and locked up for life (if not a death sentence) for even trying - no question needed.

I can get behind this. I can't even remember the last time I saw a sex scene in a movie that needed to be there - it just makes for an awkward moment.

If I wanted to see a sex scene, I'd just watch porn, not a movie where other stuff is meant to be happening.
