If at any point, DC’s 30 minute trans rant neared being funny, I could’ve given him the benefit of doubt.
But nope, it contained zero jokes. It wasn’t funny. It was him inflicting his old man attitude on the world. I loved Dave Chappelle, but I don’t find him funny or a decent person any longer.
Yep. I wanted to believe he has made some miscalculations with previous jokes. But literally wasn’t even trying to be funny in that special. I kept waiting for it. He lost me with that one and this photo further cements it. He couldn’t possibly not know who that bitch is right?
It would be so incredibly easy to shut up about trans people… But some people are just so bothered by them they cannot help themselves. I don’t get it.
Comedians, especially those who you watch perform for many hours over many years, are different from just any celebrity. Especially when they espouse a point of view that resonates, until suddenly it doesn’t. PS I don’t think about Dave Chappelle ever until he pops his head up with (these days) something shitty to say
“More than half of the websites in the study accepted passwords with six characters or less, with 75% failing to require the recommended eight-character minimum. Around 12% of had no length requirements, and 30% did not support spaces or special characters.”
One of the worst offenders I’ve seen was a bank I used to use. I think they limited to 16 characters and also got angry about a couple different special characters I tried to use. The problem beyond that? The form would let you submit any length and just silently chopped off characters 17+ or whatever. I had to reset my password several times to figure out what was going on. Pathetic…
I’m gonna need an explanation as to floppies and hard drives being so similar. I can easily buy a brand new hard drive. Floppy disks and drives, not so much…
I honestly had several catastrophic failures of floppy disks that made me stop trusting them. imo floppy disks are the least reliable way to store data by far
Depends on how much writing you are doing. I think that if you’re doing tons of writes all the time, HDD might edge out SSD, but it all depends on a lot.
Floppies were an entirely different beast. Instead of a disk failing every few years, a floppy disk that hadn’t been used in a few months, in my experience, was about 50/50 if it was bad or corrupted in some way.
She’s clearly having fun, running around in circles, chewing sticks, and finding and eating cat poop. And I don’t want to discourage her from having fun when I take her outside (except for the cat poop thing – that needs to stop)....
I’m american… not mad at france. Because I’m not a weirdo republican who considers them effeminate for some weird reason. I was making an assumption based on experience that not many of those types are on Lemmy. At least not in the communities I haven’t blocked.
I had a great time in paris. I didn’t find the stereotype to be true. I only had one person be rude to me… Whereas in New York, people can be quite rude for almost no reason
Anyone here struggle with trying to adjust brightness on Gnome in low light? At the low end, the steps are way too far apart, and at high brightness they’re almost imperceptible. Every other operating system uses a brightness curve that better matches human perception....
I ran Manjaro Linux as my daily driver a few years ago but slowly phased it out for Windows for some reason, and I’m finally back using Linux (currently Linux Mint). I gotta say, I don’t know why I ever switched back to Windows. There’s just so much freedom Linux gives you right off the bat that Windows is just plain...
