This card has two drawbacks as far as I can see. Firstly, there’s no loader to swap between games.
Secondly, it only supports its own format when you back up your own games. The games you download from the net aren’t compatible but it’s assumed the pirates would ‘repack’ their past releases to be compatible.
Here’s a question, would the Switch be oblivious to how the game is stored and download any updates? Do pirated games come complete with the latest available updates?
If you can find them on the net, I highly recommend Adywan’s Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back. He adds a lot of extra details and general tinkering. Some of which are more noticeable than others. He’s been working on these films for years, and only Star Wars and Empire are available as 8gb SD versions. He paused work on Jedi to start the process all over again in HD.
Furthermore, he’s even gone as far as building his own miniatures, building a life-size Solo in carbonite and filming fans in costume to add to his own edits (just for Jedi). If you find his website, he said the next release should be Star Wars: Revisited in HD during the middle of this year, 2024.
EDIT: I fancied watching these myself and went hunting. Star Wars wa released as a 9GB DVD ISO in PAL and NTSC format. Empire was released as a 7.5gb 720P MKV file.
Theres a dedicated fan called Adywan whose made his own special edition version of the trilogy tastefully adding more effects.
Here’s a clip from his version of the Hoth battle where he incorporates the side panel revealing troops inside. (Yes I know the aspect ratio is wrong, not my clip. 😁)
Yeah, Se7en was the first one I remembered. It’s a silly marketing thing that often makes no sense.
The first teaser trailer for Tron: Legacy was revealed at the San Diego Comic Con in 2008. At the end, the title was revealed (excuse the quality, this version of the trailer was never officially released) to be TR2N.
It later transpired that this teaser was a proof of concept test, as Disney had not yet given the project a green light. The trailer was released a year later at the Con and online, but the title had been changed to Tron: Legacy.
I did read that one of the reasons they gave Tron: Legacy the green light was because they had no big sci-fi franchise of their own. Once they bought Lucasfilm, their problems were solved and that’s why the plans for a third Tron film fell apart years ago.
I have high hopes for this film because I love the franchise.
Comic adaptations of films are interesting. They quite often used to contain scenes that didn’t make the final film because the were usually based on earlier scripts with a selection of photos so they actually knew what they were drawing.
The Marvel adaptation of Star Wars has a unique version of Jabba in docking bay 94 because no one knew what he was going to look like.
Finally, if you want to see a poor comic adaptation, check out the one for Terminator 2, looks like it was drawn during a lunch break!
