Vodulas, to feminism in Ohio State University health sciences course requires students to engage with ‘White Privilege Knapsack’

Wow, what a garbage article. Surprise surprise it’s origin was Fox News. The amount of sarcasm quotes is kind of impressive, though.

Gods forbid you have to take a look at your privileges then unpack what that means. Oh, and then you have to try and empathize with people that don’t have those same privileges. Scandalous.

I am not a fan of the Guardian, but according to the subject of the article (they call him Li), he is a dissident and was under active investigation. I don’t think they would have just let him leave

Exactly. Right wingers are so afraid of admitting they have any privilege. Like, it doesn’t make you a bad person inherently

The point of the article is that there is not enough content moderation on these types of videos. Bellingcat calls them auto-generated because that is what YouTube calls them (they highlight that is several screenshots). They showed real harm that comes from the statements and sentiments in the songs that are being uploaded. That is not concern trolling, that is pointing out an inadequate policy that needs to be addressed.

They literally explain it in the article.

The platform uses the term “Auto-generated” since the videos are not uploaded directly by users. “YouTube auto-generates videos at scale [which it terms Art Tracks] for audio tracks delivered by record labels and distributors. Artists have to submit the recording, artwork and metadata to create Art Tracks,” a YouTube spokesperson wrote in an email statement to Bellingcat.

If you like beer, a good NA beer is going to be better than seltzers most of the time. If given the choice between an Athletic NA beer and a La Croix, I will take the Athletic unless it is sweltering hot outside.

Looks like some gave you a good explanation. For the record, it didn’t seem like you posted it in bad faith, just that the writer clearly had an agenda. You probably can’t find any other articles mentioning it because it really isn’t much of a story, even though it is cool. The right wing is just trying to rile up their base

Looks like you commented a couple minutes before me, but it was two hours since your initial comment, so I did not expect you to find it at the same time.

Vodulas, to food in Let's talk Thanksgiving!

The last few years I have done sous vide turkey breast instead of a traditional roast bird. So much easier, so much tastier, and takes way less prep. Put the turkey in the bag, add some olive oil (or butter, but I get better results with olive oil), some salt, pepper, and herbs (I use sage, rosemary, and thyme), vacuum seal and put in a 140°F bath for at least 2.5 hours. I usually prep the day before and sous vide overnight, though. Never noticed any weird textures. Once you are ready to serve, get a cast iron skillet hot, and sear both sides of the breast in some butter. This is just for some good skin and nice maillard action. I also make a grave from the juice left in the bag, but that is entirely optional.

Vodulas, to chat in How much does a creator's worldview influence whether you use their tech or consume their media?

Very similar to how I view it. I will also add that if they have a platform and use it for terrible things, then that also comes into play.

First off, it is 100% ok to not like beer. That being said, you might want to try some other styles. If you like roasted coffee/chocolate flavors, try stouts or porters. Belgians are also one of my favorites. Tend to be more caramely, and a little yeasty. Delirium Tremens and Le Chouffe are a couple of my favorites that tend to be easy to get. If those are not around, Unibrowe brewing from Canada does Belgian style beers. Sours can also be pretty fun, and can approach juice like flavors.

I could probably go on for a bit, but there are a lot of options out there.

I did imply the US is better, and I probably should not have. And even in that I did not mean the government doesn’t do horrific things. Probably should not have made the comparison TBH. That doesn’t mean China doesn’t also do horrific shit, even if the way they do it is different

Just because one state is also shitty to dissenters does not mean another state isn’t. They don’t cancel each other out.

Dissident is pretty vague, probably on purpose. As much as I dislike the US government, I can say the government here is shit and not get hauled to jail for the most part. The same is not necessarily true in China

Vodulas, to news in YouTube is Autogenerating Videos for Songs Advocating the Expulsion of Muslims from India - bellingcat

Sure, but my take away was that it is a particular issue in the auto-generated videos because they are often sent whole discographies from the labels, so they are getting uploaded en-masse.

I think you 100% missed the point. No matter how the US treats people, China can also treat people terribly. They are not mutually exclusive.
