“we have to irresponsibly spend the remainder of our budget so it doesn’t get reduced next year” followed one month later by “we need more money because we maxed out the budget last year”
Fuck this atrocious cycle. It’s everywhere. Military, police, any other government branch, corporate politics, 501c orgs pretending to be charities… The greatest crime is stockpiling unsent capital, apparently.
Smarter Every Day did a video on oxygen depletion. You get loopy. As the other comment said, that burning feeling is from high CO2, not low O2. Put your mask on first, then help others.
If could have used a few more colors for in-between ranges but I think as-is, it does a decent job of dividing the country evenly between the two blues in the middle.
I remember YouTube being millennial dominated. I wonder if it’s just a phase before realizing you’re throwing comments into the void and by being a central social site that still allows anonymity, it just invokes trolls - like xitter.
Wait till you find out YouTube isn’t that old and came about because some horny dudes couldn’t find the video of Janet Jackson’s boob. I mean, 18 is ancient for the internet and other tech, but I’d say it goes beyond just being a website with its social prevalence.
It happens all the time across the country. Crusty metal debris and Light-pressure low-surface area contact can cause a hot burning short before tripping the breaker. The contact is also inconsistent as it melts and breaks contact, further delaying the breaker trip before it falls back down. There’s literally a tiktok challenge with plenty of burnt outlets, plugs, and pennies available for your viewing pleasure
This is exactly why I like having “upside down” US plugs where the ground pin is on top. If there’s a ground pin in the plug, it prevents pennies and paperclips from falling onto the hot and neutral pins. Unfortunately, this isn’t as common because 1. Some contractors beleive it’s illegal, 2. Many wall wart adapters and lay flat plugs assume the receptacle goes ground pin down, and 3. It doesn’t look like a shocked face.
Definitely the windows, but recent planes have gone with huge turbines so it’s not the most reliable tell. I don’t know Airbus well but the turbines on a 737-800 or Mac are pretty big compared to a - 300 or A320
Asteroid belts are really sparse. Those scifi space fights in asteroid fields with constant bobbing and weaving could probably only happen within a few years of a planet being blown up. Anything that dense would be condensed into larger bodies very quickly. Turns out space is a whole lot of nothing
And what we got was an improvement through newer technology. A 90s or even 00s movie would have been green screen galore, with cgi producing most of the scene. Instead, cgi evolved to be able to erase the cables and other safety items to make most of the movie a practical stunt. As Miller kept dreaming up more crazy cars, those too became reality with time as improved materials and engineering allowed them to exist. Iirc, the biggest surprise in Fury Road development was the “pole cat” cars.
