I thought Ruby was still pretty relevant given that Mastodon is essentially coded in Ruby but I am coming to the same conclusion you are based on another person’s comment.

That’s really good that you were able to get out. I guess I could consider Tableau and SQL but I literally have zero passion or interest in it/for it. If I am going to make a change, this time it both has to make monetary sense and has to be something that I don’t hate every waking minute of.

I have to search for a course that would hold weight and not just look like Uncle Slappy’s IT Career School.

@ablackcatstail@lemmy.goblackcat.com avatar

My first video game system that I ever bought was a NES. I got it back in 1986 I think.

@ablackcatstail@lemmy.goblackcat.com avatar

Those are pretty good examples. They are still not great places to go but they certainly suck a whole lot less than the others. Hell, even the weather is now being reported as entertainment.

ablackcatstail, to asklemmy in [SERIOUS] How do you do figure out what job you want after high school?
@ablackcatstail@lemmy.goblackcat.com avatar

When you start a career, you begin at what they call entry level. Then as you gain experience, you get promoted or you seek other opportunities in the same field that pay more money. Career progression is basically how you are advancing in the field.
