acockworkorange, to linuxmemes in Distros bad

The Ol’ reliable. Takes a bit of work, but the result is great. Debian stable.

acockworkorange, to linuxmemes in ***buntu

Meh. I’ve been rocking Debian based distros ever since Aptitude was released on Debian stable. Which distro just depends on how much free time I have to F around the computer. Lots of time? Something that updates fast. My child was born? I want something rock solid and immutable for years because I don’t want to waste time learning new stuff.

All Linuces are full of daemons, so rejoice my stannic friend.

acockworkorange, to linuxmemes in It's (usually) already installed

I generally do not connect to web sites from my own machine, aside from a few sites I have some special relationship with. I usually fetch web pages from other sites by sending mail to a program (see git.savannah.gnu.org/git/womb/hacks.git) that fetches them, much like wget, and then mails them back to me. Then I look at them using a web browser, unless it is easy to see the text in the HTML page directly. I usually try lynx first, then a graphical browser if the page needs it.

Fuck. What the hell.

I occasionally also browse unrelated sites using IceCat via Tor. Except for rare cases, I do not identify myself to them. I think that plus Tor plus LibreJS is enough to prevent my browsing from being associated with me. IceCat blocks tracking tags and most fingerprinting methods.

Ironically I think this makes his the most unique fingerprint in the whole internet.

Nah, I wish he’d live forever. Forever decaying, more frail and incapable with each passing day. Just wishing for the sweet release of death, but never actually getting it.

I don’t think it’s fair to expect your significant other to act as an inanimate object and receive your frustrations without reacting like they normally would. It’s great if you have that kind of relationship, but forcing it is not ok.

Ethanol has been in use in Brazil since the 70s. The fuel is cheaper than gasoline, but you need to burn more of it. The rule of thumb was that the break even point was around 70% the price of gasoline (but that was applicable to the mostly compact car fleet of Brazil - every vehicle would have its own number).

It definitely pollutes significantly less. You also have zero issues with carbonization in the motor as alcohol has a decent detergent action. You should get a bit more life out of your catalytic converter.

You get a few “free” HP if the conversion is done right.

Cold mornings are your enemy. Alcohol takes longer to heat up your engine, so there’s a gasoline reservoir for cold starts that the on-board computer doses until the engine is warm enough to not sputter out.

If your conversion leaves you with a flex motor (any mixture of gas and ethanol), you can switch to E25 in high winter (or eyeball it at the pump for something like 50/50). Helps avoid wasting fuel heating the engine from a cold start when it’s white out.

Ethanol is highly hygroscopic, so components in your gas train that don’t deal well with water can start to rust. This was an issue mostly in the days of leaded gas, but nowadays all gas has some ethanol in it, so you’re probably fine.

Look, another article blaming people’s choices instead of corporate corruption controlling the lack of industry regulation. How original.

The response at the end of the article is funny though. “No you” but in DA.
