This is becoming a fucking pain in the ass, and it’s going to be the final and only reason I end up moving away from it. WTF, makes me feel like I’m back to using Windows. How the hell can I avoid Nobara tampering the firefox welcome page every week?...
I’ve been distrohopping for a while now, and eventually I landed on Arch. Part of the reason I have stuck with it is I think I had a balanced introduction, since I was exposed to both praise and criticism. We often discuss our favorite distros, but I think it’s equally important to talk about the ones that didn’t quite hit...
I never figured out why, but I couldn’t get any version of suse to work properly on my computers. I’ve been with Debian (sid) for about a decade now, so not the most up to date criticism here.
I didn’t mean to suggest that. Simply that he was a business man doing business in a capitalist society. If you lose the talent of your main chef, what do you do? You ride his name and legacy for as long as you can.
I’ve seen in various threads that the current browser engines aren’t good, such as gecko and blink. The question is why? Why do we need a new one, and what’s stopping a new one being made? Is it just the fact that they’re a lot of work to make?
The big issue is that by adding more and more features, a browser has become an operating system and so complex that you can’t hope to make a new one from scratch.
The last “new” browser engine (that wasn’t built by a corporation) was KHTML which was stolen harvested first by Apple for Webkit and subsequently by Google for Blink. KHTML then rotted without support.
The most recent attempt was to build Servo in Rust. Mozilla “ran out of money” (they depend on Google for their existence), and it’s already rotting.
I don’t have the artistic skill to rendition the Golden gate bridge. I don’t think a detailed rendition would work for a flag anyway. You’d run into the same problem as the bear.
If you have the skill, I’d love to see that option though.
Red, white, green brown + 6 rainbow colors = 10 (probably too many anyway) But I like the rainbow motif for California. I like it’s contrast with the white (for the white supremacists that still call this state home).
No black between red and white (at least not intentional).
Red 1 and 2 are the same. The brown of the bridge and green are from the current flag. I just added the six rainbow colors. There is no black or yellow green. Maybe it’s too much.
How to get Nobara to STOP overriding my Firefox homepage??

What's the issue with current browser engines?

It’s a low bar to make the California flag better, but I woke up and decided to give it a go. It’s my first attempt. Let me know what you think
