apis, (edited ) to chat in how's your week going, Beehaw

Wow. That sounds like a blast. Have heard some Barbershop & knew it is a US college tradition, but had no idea about the brigades.

As a curious aside, saw a thing on television just this evening about a Portuguese musical tradition which exists in their universities. The style & tunes are very different to Barbershop, and they make use of string instruments as well (though everybody has to sing) but they too have familiar repertoire and appear at various events on campus, as well as competing with other university troupes.

EDIT: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuna_(music)

Ooh, that is a fun thing to do.

Was the project something for work, or something personal?

Bit behind the times here, but how are cars even accessing this information, unless the phone is built into the car system, and the user has an cellular/data/wi-fi account with the car manufacturer?

If it were me, I’d use that browser solely for FB. Firefox allows one to have multiple instances. Harden it as much as you can whilst still able to use the bits of FB you’re interested in.

Probably just people who can’t get less risky accounts, or who are hoping to get money out of Russia.

apis, to news in France bans all pro-Palestinian demonstrations

Of course.

I guess I’ve become very pessimistic over the years, which is not good.

Like I’ll still turn out to stuff, but with none of the hope in my heart I’d have had in the past.

apis, to news in France bans all pro-Palestinian demonstrations

Am against this ban, but I do not see how protests in France would be any kind of check on the actions of the Israeli military in Palestine.

Oh whoopsie, I meant grand in the sense of “a really good time”.

Regional useage popping out of me again!

So sorry that happened to you.

Keeping him unblocked but muted, just in case he threatens to approach. Having forewarning (and evidence if it really escalates) is useful & my feelings are now such that he’s incapable of upsetting me.

Happy to report he’s gone quiet for now.

SMS is my primary mode of contact with the rest if the world. I use Signal as well, but most people I know only use SMS.

Garmin sell these beacon devices, which can be used to either check in with relatives, or to summon help to their location.

They’re expensive, and intended more for people heading into remote areas, but might give you both some peace of mind, without tracking his every move.

What kinda thing were you all singing?

apis, to news in Armenia joins Russia's list of 25 countries where foreigners will be able to open accounts in Russian banks

Arrange a transfer from Russian branch to Armenian branch, withdraw money, close account.

Or just a plain withdrawal if you already have an account with them in Russia, and other banks are refusing your business.
