arudesalad,

These arrows already exist! The France one is the English tunnel and the Ireland one is there because they need to make Ireland feel like one island. The uk dont have much control over how well they connect to their border. I think the uk would have benefited from this plan as they seem to be having problems with trains

arudesalad,

It also supports the creators of the video as well. If I had the money I would choose premium over an adblocker just because of that.

arudesalad,

Could you give somd examples of something to selfhost? I am only really aware of selfhosting lemmy and other fediverse stuff

arudesalad,

I have the pi5 with 8gb of ram. Is that enough?

arudesalad,

Alright, thanks for trying to help. Will I need ssh on my main pc to get it to work on my pi?

arudesalad,

Crashing and burning would be similar to most my other projects

arudesalad,

Also in the comment this one is replying to, I meant to say set up correctly

arudesalad,

Do I do that from my normal pc? I’ve never used ssh before

arudesalad,

I’ve replied to a different comment in this thread about what happened already

arudesalad,
arudesalad,

I actually set up pihole today!

arudesalad,

Also, could a reverse proxy be used to give cloudflare’s services to a port they don’t support?

arudesalad,

So a reverse proxy is a way to manage subdomains? I read somewhere that it allows multiple different services to be hosted on the same port and I think I know that that is probably a lie.

arudesalad,

I’m not sure if this is a response to my comment but the article I linked isn’t about setting a secondary dns, the fritz!box has a function that allows it to temporarily change the dns (usually to 8.8.8.8) if the specified dns isn’t working. It is separate from the “normal” dns settings.

arudesalad,

fritzhelp.avm.de/…/hilfe_internet_public_dnsI found this guide for the fritz!box to set up a fallback dns, I think it should be on by default as it is on mine but I would read the article just to make sure

arudesalad,

All those memes are from the same poster

arudesalad,

Lemmy’s most political users vs the world’s largest screen

Managed to set up an instance using Lemmy-Easy-Deploy but federation is being a bit weird

Is it always weird on new instances, I’m seeing posts from a random amount of days ago, no votes and no comments. Also, is it possible to federate with communities automatically or do I have to search for them all one at a time to add them to my instance?

arudesalad,

It’s on the .57 machine and in the same docker environment as the proxy
