I always wondered what happened to that wraith dude that SG Atlantis tried to make back into a human. I guess he got to Earth and joined Starfleet.

LMAO gotem! (I’m imagining really hard)

What search engine do you recommend that isn't Google or Bing?

I’m still trying to de-Google my life, little by little. I don’t trust Bing for similar reasons. DDG is feeling shady of late. What’s the search engine you all recommend that I can inject into my daily life? Is there perhaps a search engine that is focused on code, or have we just all moved on to AI for searching?...

Kagi

It’s a paid subscription but it’s better than Google, I’ve found.

Now I’m wondering about an Odo Garibaldi buddy cop movie.

And Kira + Ivanova being pissed off at things together :)

Spock tries to mind meld with a Vorlon and his head explodes.

Delenn is fascinated by wormhole prophets.

“why are these teenagers so stressed?!?” The article said.

Maybe because they have very few opportunities for a happy, prosperous, rewarding life?

And of course the Republicans use the deaths as a talking point.

Made me snort out loud and choke a bit. worth it

How to bypass a metered connection?

In North America, using Xfinity for reference. I want to create both a home NAS and offline Wiki/media backup. Problem is to get the amount of data I need would blow through my plan and throttle my speed. I guess I could try and do it over a longer period or download just before the billing cycle renews so even if I go over it...

Can you not afford to pay for the cap to be removed? I do that, it’s like $15/month extra or something.

I’m bummed out that the post-Endgame Marvel stuff has been fumbled so often, because it means we get less chance of great villains.

Magneto and Doom are of course amazing characters, but there’s also the Sentinels/mastermold/Trask and all the great X-Men villains.

Kagi.com has been working really well for me. Sure it’s paid, but I am glad to no longer be dealing with google.

Why are the juicy drama threads always deleted by the time I see references to them?

Because the rich have spent 2 centuries entrenching themselves in power, and literally everyone else won’t do a thing about it.

We’re all so apathetic that the impending collapse of our ecosystem is viewed with a shrug. When it should be met with torches and pitchforks in the street, and Madame Guillotine for the rich and powerful.

Nobody gives a shit because they’re all waiting for someone else to do something.

Edited to add:

One Punch Man first season is hilarious.

The trifecta of 2010s animation: Regular Show, Steven Universe, and Adventure Time. There’s jokes and themes in these that are pretty adult, but the darker stuff is generally avoided.

1980s: Dogtanian and the 3 Muskehounds. Mysterious Cities of Gold. Best theme tunes ever, and very easy watching.

Fellow Extreme Weather Lemmings, what are your Buy it for Life winter boot suggestions?

We got my husband some Helly Hansen boots the year before last and we noticed a hole in them last year. I am right pissed. If I’m dropping hundreds of dollars on boots, I expect to get my money’s worth. What are your awesome boot suggestions to help me do just that?

I really like my Keen winter boots. They’re warm enough for the worst Michigan can throw at me.

Not our cleaning robot, but our wifi enabled air fryer is called PHILIP J AIRFRY.

Getting a notification that my food is ready makes me smile every time.

If I had a wifi enabled toilet or toilet cleaner, I’d name it Lucy Liubot.

If something is worth doing, it’s worth doing well.

Said by a friend who, in the late 90s, copied a dozen albums to minidisk for me. He named all the albums and track names using a remote to select each letter one by one. It must have taken him many hours to do it. But he wanted to do a good job. Up up up up A right, up up up up up f, etc etc. Utterly tedious but he wanted to do a good job.
