SAD light location and use for programmers?

It’s been a grey winter, and looking to stay that way. I work remote, so I was thinking of getting an SAD light. But I remember from years ago when I had one (and worked in an office) that if I put it next to my monitor it gave me a headache and made my monitor hard to see. Get the glasses and only use them 2x MAXIMUM (like no more than 30 mins) right as you wake up or want to wake up.

I strongly advise against using them any other time of the day or as an “energy boost”, they should be confined to use when you want to wake up to entrain your circadian rhythms, otherwise just go for a walk. They really shouldn’t have anything to do with working or using other screens. Make sure the surrounding ambient light is decent to avoid strain

When I say the glasses, make sure its white. The jury seems to be out on whether intense blue light has association with potential macular degeneration which is obviously worrisome

Are we to go along with that as well and have it reflected in the calculus?

Sometimes you actually have to color a bit outside the lines in order to adequately provide guidance or actually good advice. And everyone but the OP has seemed to speak louder and more presumptively on this than OP themself so I’m going to respectfully end this exchange and hopefully OP can chime in more if its relevant for them to do so.

I understand, however, this is going to bother and poison you slowly but steadily if you don’t address it with her.

Just ask her straight-up: girl, you know I’m allergic to wine and felt not great when you gave the thing I’m allergic to as a gift and my partner can’t enjoy it with me. What’s up with that?

If its an oversight hopefully she owns up. If not, well, theres bigger problems and either way she’s signalling to you to get out of her life or whatever.

Keep me posted if you don’t mind, but make no mistake: you will basically almost certainly have to address this at some point in the future, don’t let it destroy you until you do it anyway
