Seems like Disney can’t make up their minds and are trying to make the “perfect” gay character. They should just do this: “This is the first gay character” “This is the first gay character V2” “This is the first gay character V3” Etc

Etc
Technically it's always the first in China until they get removed from the movie (startrek.website)
