dangblingus, to piracy in Is there an *arr service for video games?

Launchbox is a great option for organizing your PC games and roms, but it doesn’t really do anything automatically except for scraping box art and metadata of games/systems. It also doesn’t offer a server/client setup, so there’s no streaming games unless you have a VM.

Tolerance of intolerance isn’t tolerance, my guy.

dangblingus, to piracy in The IT Crowd - Piracy warning

The UK is a very casually transphobic handful of countries.

dangblingus, (edited ) to piracy in The IT Crowd - Piracy warning

Perhaps some overzealous reference to the fact that Graham Linehan is a massive wanker, butthurt transphobe. The way you “can’t really make rape/racist/sexist/transphobic jokes anymore”. He doesn’t really make TV anymore. This skit on the other hand, as well as most of Father Ted and The IT Crowd, is perfectly PG.

dangblingus, to piracy in The IT Crowd - Piracy warning

The IT Crowd basically cemented itself as timeless by never directly referencing anything super techy that would date it. Sure, there’s a guitar hero controller and an xbox 360 in a lot of shots, as well as some 4:3 laptops, but that’s about it.

dangblingus, to piracy in I Know What You Download (via torrent)

Telegram is encrypted.

dangblingus, (edited ) to piracy in I Know What You Download (via torrent)

It’s probably not a honeypot, but if I was the president of Warner Bros or Disney, I sure would want to set up a website that gathered IP addresses of people that probably download pirated media, or better yet, confirm that they did indeed download my product.

dangblingus, (edited ) to piracy in There should be a guide to basic piracy like how there's guides on how to jailbreak nintendo consoles

here’s a basic guide to piracy.

Step 1: be old enough to remember usenet/IRC

Step 2: if not old enough to remember those things, download limewire and download a bunch of stuff

Step 3: after tiring of infecting your PC with countless viruses, move over to torrenting

Step 4: after your 3rd cease and desist letter from HBO and Disney, start researching VPNs

Step 5: VPN and public trackers until your data hoarding addiction has led you to run out of things to pirate

Step 6: Start researching usenet

dangblingus, to piracy in How do companies know if I use cracked software or assets for my personal gig?

Instead of Photoshop, use GIMP. Instead of Premiere, use Da Vinci Resolve. Instead of After Effects, use Blender. Instead of Audtion, use Audacity.

dangblingus, to piracy in What VPN do you use and why?

Hey OP, maybe switch to your alt if you’re gonna be weird and fake online.

dangblingus, to piracy in What VPN do you use and why?

Why are you replying a bunch to your own post with the name of different VPNs?

dangblingus, to piracy in I had no idea that you could download movies from the 90ies from archive.org

“In some cases”

Entire romsets for basically every console.

dangblingus, to news in Don’t fall into the trap of ‘picking sides’ over Gaza: Hamas’s attacks were unconscionable, razing Gaza to the ground would be abhorrent. In both cases, basic humanity is at stake --- [Opinion]

I pick the “innocent Gazan civilians just trying to live their lives but keep getting murdered by disproportionate force from the IDF” side.

Fuck Hamas. Fuck the IDF.

dangblingus, to memes in This is literally the internet nowadays without an adblock

Boomers that aimlessly surf facebook. They’re still trying to figure out what the use-cases are for the internet thingy they pay $60 a month for.

dangblingus, to piracy in Brazil Regulator Claims "80% of Pirate TV Boxes" Were Blocked Last Week * TorrentFreak

Fair enough. Maybe some slightly more tech savvy Brazilians are reading this right now though lol
