fidodo, to lemmyshitpost in Alec Baldwin charged for shooting;

I think it would be fair to charge him with reckless endangerment if he was involved with her hiring and there were clear red flags, but producers have extremely varied roles and I don’t know what his personal involvement was.

I didn’t say I hate it, I said it’s an issue for me. The reason why it concerns me is because it makes spam trivial. Anyone with hardly any technical knowledge could easily write a script that produces millions of shitty unreviewed images and spam it all over the place making it hard to find legitimately good stuff.

fidodo, to asklemmy in Does AI-generated art posted on lemmy bother you?

My issue with AI art is that it makes laziness easier. I hate seeing shitty AI art where it looks really gross when you look at the details. I’ve seen big companies post really shitty AI art that was horrifying once you look closer. Like Microsoft put a disgusting image of jack-o’-lantern up as the background of Bing for Halloween and the faces were just grotesque and uneasy to look at.

Anything can be art, it just needs someone to curate it and present it as art. The more important question is if it’s good art.

Some of it’s really gross looking

fidodo, to memes in Flight sim people are on another level

Monitors are probably the cheapest part of a flight sim setup too

It’s wetter and denser. Don’t know if that’s enough to make it bad, but the wetness could give it a weird texture for the flavor

It’s just carbs and a sweet sauce.

So “in 30 years” you never wanted to throw your non existent cell phone. Your original comment just doesn’t make sense.

fidodo, to programmer_humor in Good luck web devs

What would you be able to see on a 30 year old cell phone that would make you throw it? A weird number?

fidodo, to memes in They are too expensive and gimicky either way

Our dryer wasn’t working very well so we got a temporary one for $100 from Craigslist, but turns out it runs great and we have no desire to replace it.

Smart phones haven’t existed for 30 years…

fidodo, to programmer_humor in Revisiting code I wrote last year

You gotta comment what drugs you were on when you wrote the code

fidodo, to asklemmy in What's some amazing technology they have in Japan that's very normal to them but would blow our minds here in the US and western world?

Ok, well maybe they have a long pipeline of projects ready to be built, but they are getting things built. I went with a friend who was there like 5 years prior and he said everything looked totally different since the last time he was there. I don’t know about the planning process but even if that’s slow that’s still way better than most places where it also takes ages to get something started, takes ages to get something built, and they don’t have enough projects going through the planning process in the first place.

Their ability to actually build things. The amount of construction projects I saw while visiting was insane, and they get it done fast.
