fmstrat,

.sh is Linux’s version of .bat. There is no .exe as executables typically don’t have a file extension. This is all assuming you know your file extensions in Windows.

fmstrat,

Very true. Exe does not work in Windows, either.

fmstrat,

I guess you’ll have to change your username to .sh now.

Found it! New Friends 1981

m.imdb.com/title/tt3352786/

After a few attempts, the successful Google string was:

“howard” “duck” “frog” -comic “new york”

Edit: By few, I mean my whole morning. Fun puzzle 😉

Edit 2: My work here is done. youtu.be/06kfHOvZdbs

Edit 3: Donate the money to charity, or use it to buy gifts for kids for the holidays!

fmstrat,

Haha, NP, glad I was able to rekindle a fun Christmas memory for you guys. Have fun! And tell them you found it on Lemmy. Get’em on the Fediverse 😉

fmstrat,

I ran across this before I found the right one, too. Funny stuff.

fmstrat,

Rocket League. And then I’m not chilled.

fmstrat,

Go with your gut. His ceiling probably creaked when you walked, and that was it.

fmstrat,

When does he sleep? It is theoretically possible for this to affect him personally.

fmstrat,

I think this is by design. I once contributed to git, and it required putting a patch in the mailing list. It certainly forced you to be sure your code was spot on.

Signal leaked random contacts to me! (feddit.de)

When I press on some message to forward it, it shows me Random usernames of contacts I don’t know. And it even shows some Mobile Numbers I don’t know. For example, one number starts with +964 that’s Iraq. I’m from Europe tho. These contacts and numbers are from all over the place....

fmstrat,

Let me dig up that Ubuntu ISO link right quick…

fmstrat,

For some reason I would love to see this get hundreds of upvotes and just this one comment.

Not a mastodon user, so my comment is useless anyway 😉

I use linux for the same reason I wear fuzzy socks and sweaters

My understanding of the history of fashion is that back in the 1950s America it was expected that you wore a suit/dress at work unless you had a different uniform. There were a bunch of very boring people who thought that we should be wearing office job garb all the time, because they wore suits so much it was their default...

fmstrat,

Out of curiosity, why do you feel this way? And what are you passionate about?

fmstrat,

That doesn’t answer my question, it avoids it. Passions come in many flavors, and are not all-consumimg. For some its music, and culminates on an instrument. For some it’s sports, and revolves around one. Do you have anything you are passionate about?

fmstrat,

And perhaps OP is the same.

fmstrat,

Yea, plumbing was a poor choice for title, hah. Every home store in places I’ve lived always seems to have a knowledgeable person.

fmstrat,

Because if people don’t, then evil wins. Even GI Joe taught us: Knowing is half the battle.

fmstrat,

I should also add, this would require you to use a GDPR respecting instance. There’s a reason places like Amazon have amazon.com and amazon.co.uk, etc. That’s not tenable for me, or most users.

fmstrat,

Latency.
