fosforus, to memes in Not such a conspiracy theory now

Reality seems to again be more like Aldous Huxley than George Orwell. We will pay to get these things in our heads eventually.

Dump all your data in a data lake, throw a thousand GPUs in there too, and you’ll have your answer in 2 hours max.

fosforus, (edited ) to memes in Japan is living in the future that the 1990s dreamed of.

Plus the highest debt/GDP ratio in the world by far.

edit Oh wait, Venezuela topped them. Well done, socialism!

fosforus, (edited ) to linuxmemes in Linus does not fuck around

Generally speaking: not these days, and not for a long long time. Mauro, for instance, worked for Red Hat at the time. It’s of course possible to be unpaid and work for Linux, but I believe it’s much more likely that one is employed by a big tech corpo and they maintain the kernel as part of their work.

Does it really sound like that? Should you perhaps try to steelman my argument in your head?

fosforus, to news in Heads of 3 top US colleges refuse to say calling for genocide of Jews is harassment

Yup, head in the sand. That works.

fosforus, (edited ) to news in Heads of 3 top US colleges refuse to say calling for genocide of Jews is harassment

I’m guessing you’re gonna say that there is no genocide if not all or most of the people are killed, because then their people have survived. But, genocide also incorporates cultural genocide.

No, I’m saying that population doesn’t grow during a genocide.

That’s the fate the Israeli state wants for Palestine. It is still technically genocide.

But… Palestinian Arabs are >20% of the population of Israel. You’re making absolutely no sense.

fosforus, (edited ) to news in Heads of 3 top US colleges refuse to say calling for genocide of Jews is harassment

Consider the question, dude. What happens to the population in a genocide?

fosforus, (edited ) to news in Heads of 3 top US colleges refuse to say calling for genocide of Jews is harassment

They are bombing Hamas terrorists, their enemy, not refugees. You must remember that Hamas fighters and civilians look exactly the same, and they deliberately lurk among the civilians. This is obviously not genocide.

I’ll give you a hint in form of a question that may lead you towards the truth: What happens to the amount of population in a genocide?

fosforus, to news in Heads of 3 top US colleges refuse to say calling for genocide of Jews is harassment

I feel like there’s some weird context here. Why does Stefanik want to get that “yes” and why are they reluctant to say it? Would it be a declaration of some university policy that would lead to suppressing the demonstrations or what?

fosforus, to news in Heads of 3 top US colleges refuse to say calling for genocide of Jews is harassment

Israel is not apartheid, and it’s obviously not committing genocide. Hamas is for genocide.

fosforus, to linuxmemes in Accurate?

I don’t get all the Apple hate from the Linux community.

Being poor hurts. Distributing hurt makes it feel better.

fosforus, to linuxmemes in Repurposing your laptop trans rights style 😎🏳️‍⚧️

Isn’t it obvious? Linux turns people trans.

fosforus, (edited ) to linuxmemes in Yeah, very sorry that this app is Windows only, would love to switch to Mac

If you must use X11 for some reason, i3 is the OG. Sway is Wayland. But yeah, I think those two are pretty much perfection.

fosforus, (edited ) to linuxmemes in Yeah, very sorry that this app is Windows only, would love to switch to Mac

M$ is it keeps trying to be more and more like Apple

Apple has adverts in macos somehow, but I’m not sure what it means since I’ve never seen ads in there. Perhaps they’re in app store or safari or something, but I don’t use either, so I don’t know.

Windows on the other hand pumps ads on you right at first boot on desktop. I’m sure it’s possible to turn them off somehow, but I usually choose to turn them off by installing Linux.
