That’s the fastest animal above earth, silly

I haven’t had an issue with webp support myself, kinda surprised to see people stating it like it happens all the time

The only tool I’ve used that didn’t support it was the FOMOD creation tool when making some small Starfield foods, and that actually DID support webp, it just threw an error but would show the image and mod managers would load it no problem

Or is this an example of the difference between people who use Linux and Windows regularly?

For posts:

Interesting content gets updoot. Spam, misinformation, and conservative politics get the downdoot.

For comments:

Relevant to the discussion (be it top-level or deep in a thread), funny, and factual statements get updoots. Irrelevant comments, false information, poor argumentative skills, and conservative political get the downdoot.

I’m that guy growing magic mushrooms and telling people about how awesome fungi are in general now that I know more about them

I’m doing my part!

Those conversations happen so rarely that it’s not worth even considering that as a possibility until a reply or two has shown that they’re not going to stonewall the conversation.

In person things are one way, but on the anonymous Internet (especially lemmy and reddit) it’s people who are 100% not going to adjust their actively garbage views on things and thus deserve to be treated as the dickheads they too often are

If they don’t like being pre judged based on their political beliefs they should rethink why people have an inherant dislike of them, and maybe change. Or learn to deal with the consequences of having dogshit opinions

So you can buy the spores online and have them legally shipped to your door basically anywhere in the US from a site sharing it’s name with the garden humans first lived in before Eve ate the apple

Once you’ve got those they grow in a shotgun fruiting chamber, a type of fungus growing that is used for many kinds of mushrooms and is completely normal to talk about.

You take some vermiculite, brown rice flour, and some jars, sterilize the dirt (boil it), put it in jars, and squirt some spores into the jars

Leave them in a drawer to become a full cake, then into the fruiting chamber. Spritz with water 3x daily and in a month you’ve got more mushrooms than you can cook with

My first harvest was a little over an oz of dried goodness for an investment initially of about $150, and I can do it again at least 2 more times with current supplies

Bending the knee absolutely should stick around, there are many people (my wife included) who WANT that sort of gesture

You should 100% have an idea of what they’ll say before you do it though. I knew my wife was going to say yes, it was merely picking the correct time and place (which I did, and as far as I know, am the only one to do so)

Anyone who springs it on their partner without at least some attempts at subtly discussing marriage is an idiot who deserves if it blows up in their face

@gamermanh@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

There’s a 5/6 chance someone is put onto the side rail (the one the trolley won’t go down without interfering with it)

There’s a 1/6 chance someone is put onto the main rail (the one the trolley WILL go down)

You’re more likely to be on the side track if you’re involved in this scenario, so if you wanna get hit you SHOULD try to flip it (if you’re the one on the side track, it guarantees a hit. If you’re one of the 10 people on the main, you have a 90% chance of having a dead switch and should try anyway)

Unless being tired at work is making me miss something

Drive a 2018 Nissan leaf, fantastic car except for the fact that it uses CHADeMO for DC fast charging (cancelled connector, getting harder to find)

Would recommend getting an EV, especially if you can charge at home. With tax credits and the savings in gas you’ll have paid the difference before you’re done with the car for sure.

Mine needed a full battery replacement after almost 5 years due to a defect, many 2018-2020 models will also have gotten the same due to the same issue. If you get one of those you get a new pack with ~170 Miles (default was 155 for mine)

Before turning it in I’d gone down to an estimated 125-130ish from the 155 it started at, honestly it didn’t really feel like it’d lost much range at all, had the battery not failed due to a manufacturing efect I feel I’d have gotten at least another 10 years before really feeling the squeeze. That’s gonna depend on how often you DC fast charge vs level 1 or 2 slow charge, though. Then again, I’d mostly used DC fast charging to charge that battery so idk how much it ACTUALLY hurts the battery in the long run.

If given the choice I’d go for a bolt, preferably one with the refurb batteries from THEIR recall. Main reason being slightly more miles on the battery + CCS-1 (More common than CHADeMO and adaptable to NACS) DC fast charging

My leaf does a daily 46 mile one way commute and I get home with 35-40% charge every day, which I’d say isn’t bad at all. If you don’t road trip it, it rules

My Shiba Inu licked a toad a few months back

Didn’t even know we had them in the yard til he suddenly ran in foaming at the mouth and clearly not enjoying the taste

Went outside and there was a rather upset toad with a tongue-tied wet stripe on his back

Scary at first but funny once we realized he was fine

Vaccines have existed for how long?

MRNA vaccines are also not new.

Changing which disease is treated for doesn’t magically change the vaccine into something that’ll hurt us down the line.

This is really basic vaccine knowledge, you should have learned this in school

But long term effects of either will only be shown over time, we still need more of that
