Do you know of any online solutions for creating forms (open-source if possible) that have an API for generating unique links to the same form? @opensource

I may not be fully understanding your use case, but Baserow has forms and is API-first. It sounds like it would do it, if I’m understanding correctly.

It’s open source and has both hosted and self-hosted versions.

Disclaimer: I’m part of the Baserow team.

Bouncy. I read “Dom Dolla” and immediately thought Dame Dolla (Damian Lillard) so I was like “Oh this gonna have a Dame verse?!”

I don’t do it often, but I get real into it when there’s wordplay and figurative language that makes me think.

Plus I couldn’t find the lyrics to it, so in this case I did it to make sure I wasn’t missing the bar intricacies.

Looking for Notes App for Android & Linux

I am trying to slowly de-Google-ify myself by moving to open source apps, I wanna ditch google notes and evernote. I tried obsidian, standard notes, and joplin, I liked using obsidian on PC and standard notes looks nice on android but obsidian you need to pay to have sync and standard notes doesn’t do markdown unless you pay...

It’d be helpful to learn more about your requirements. Does it need to be open source? Any must-have features? Native apps? Etc.

I got someone to use Signal recently, because I don’t text outside of it. Last week, she asked me why that is. I sent this Bruce Schneier essay on the eternal value of privacy to someone who knows absolutely nothing about tech, and she understood.

I’m gonna try it again next time it comes up with someone else. I think this essay does a really good job of putting it into perspective, so I’m hoping this is the silver bullet I can continue to send when someone asks.

Overall, in general, I try to keep it in real world terms. Why do you close the door when you go to the bathroom? Why do you lock your doors? Why do you have curtains/blinds? etc., along with what some other intelligent people responded here.

You should vocalize it to the owner (or at least management) if you can. You’d be surprised what comes of it.

I did this once with a restaurant/bar owner, and she was very understanding. Once I took the time to explain how I didn’t wanna be subjected to everything that a setup like that brings, she empathized and actually got a standalone website.

Many people aren’t aware until you make em aware. And whether they feel the same or not from a consumer standpoint, at least they’ll know that there’s people out there who do care, and it affects business. And usually, if it affects business, it doesn’t matter what their personal feelings towards it are. A good business owner will be sure to adjust because they learned something new about the market.
