Esp32 runs a relay board which switches the 24v to my sprinkler valves.

If you have a Bluetooth proxy setup you can get Switchbot devices pretty cheap. They have an outdoor temp/humidity sensor for ~$15. I bought a pack of 3 for $36.

Bluetooth proxy can easily be setup with esphome and a ~$10 esp32

That’s why I went home assistant and then built my own “echo”.

It’s not as feature rich, and what it has takes work to setup. But it’s totally worth it for the security/privacy
