only thing keeping me back to switch to Wayland is Barrier. I need that for my work machine 🤷🏻‍♂️

I would say the Xbox 360, tho I never really owned one. I feel it was maybe the most polished modern console, the most friendliest, worked offline (obviously), was easy to hack and MS didn’t really made a fuss about it. an x360 was accessible for everyone, even for the less fortunate peeps around here central-eastern and eastern europe. hacked or not, ms had a nice market here and the xbox brand was pretty stable.

The PS2, the og Xbox (though it really was a PC), the Game Cube, Wii, Wii U, and of course the 8 and 16 bit era consoles are also great candidates one by one.

What is your unpopular flim opinion

I’ll go first. Mine is that I can’t stand the Deadpool movies. They are self aware and self referential to an obnoxious degree. It’s like being continually reminded that I am in a movie. I swear the success of that movie has directly lead to every blockbuster having to have a joke every 30 seconds

Tho it’s a show and watched only the first season, but Star Trek: Lower Decks is kinda ruining the whole Star Trek world to me.

It’s an OK cartoon, not bad at all. but so not Star Trek to me, at least the first season wasn’t. I get it, it’s the “Go” of the series, the cool and hip genz implementation, you either like it or not, and honestly, I kinda like it, but not as Star Trek.

I wouldn’t necessarily call it ignoring, if you just… don’t explode on someone in a “professional” letter, if we can call it that.

Debian + KDE Plasma if you want a working, stable operating system.

but only if you don’t want to experiment, distro hop and god knows what arbitrary challenges to face and never be completely satisfied.

it’s just my opinion, but I think because it’s LTS and has a philosophy behind the OS that doesn’t ring well with hardcore modding.

I kinda feel that Debian is sort of the “boomer OS” in the community; it just works, the way it works, it’s the “easy route” (if it makes any sense). also, some people doesn’t like APT or initd, I don’t know what’s up with nVidia drivers on Debian, or the support for any other super proprietary stuff.

you also don’t always get the freshest of stuff with it.

I personally love Debian, but granted that I haven’t tried out the whole Linux repertoire and I really don’t need too exotic stuff in my life if it’s about my main computer.

but to me, for developing, working, browsing the web, fuck around with documents, consuming media, networking etc etc., is more than perfect.

I had a Sony Ericsson W595i before my first smartphone (which was a Vodafone 845)

I loved Sony Ericssons, had a bunch of them, because they were extremely moddable through VKP patches. it ran Doom natively 😄
