I do not use their VPN, just the socks5 proxy, so I can’t comment. It’s $6.95 USD monthly. Costs less than a meal out. Do you have an alternative that is less expensive with no catches or limits? I’m all ears. Serious. I’m always willing to try other stuff. Any socks5 proxy service that costs less.
I just don’t get calling it expensive. It’s not really.
Ironically, I find McDonald’s has one of the better reward systems in their app. I also enjoy being able to punch in my order on a screen with any modifications I want such as extra pickle, no lettuce, etc… instead of relying on the shitty speaker to pick it up only to hear a guy be like “Did you say cherry coke?” “No, diet coke” ugh
I learned a ton of Japanese from anime. I also took two semesters in college, but anime was a huge portion. I signed on as a translation cleanup guy for a fansub group back in the day. We had a guy in Japan who could write broken English for the dialogue in anime episodes, and then I was the guy who was excellent with English but only had a basic grasp of Japanese (grade school level). Between us, we could get a script.
I learned more from cleaning up his scripts than I EVER did in two semesters of college.
Nowadays, I am not sure what the word for it is, but I can understand spoken Japanese at a high level but I cannot speak back very fluently. My spoken word is full of pauses as I try to think of the right word. But if you speak to me in Japanese, I understand very well.
So… is the meme accurate? I guess partially. It’s not like I would ever call myself fluent. I can just watch anime without subtitles now.
I take chats for customer service. We’re expected to help two people at the same time. This is me when two people who work from home lost internet at the same time so they’re in crisis and as ending message after message and won’t follow directions because they’re desperately trying anything to get back online because they could get fired.
The cynic in me is like “this is karma for the previous 3 times you told your boss the internet was down when it wasn’t.”
Smooth-brained western Chinese apologists is not what I was expecting from the future of the internet even 5 years ago. Our atrocities are totally cool, eh? Nice.
I work for an ISP and I’ve been told on several occasions by customers that it is illegal for us to see a customer’s connected devices on the router that we supply and manage… Bro if you want to manage your own network, buy your own router and stop bothering me.
AMEN! I asked recently if there was a good Linux alternative to this program I used in Windows called “Bulk Rename Utility” and i was flooded by people telling me how easy it was to set up a script to do what I want.
Turns out the best alternative is running BRU in Wine.
