“Very weird to the UNIX world”??? It’s the only one that’s actually UNIX.

The only complaints on this entire post are down to people that have no idea what they’re doing. It’s full-on Dunning-Krueger. There are plenty of training wheels, but they are trivial to disable/bypass if needed. People need to get a lot more comfortable with justifying their preferences with “I don’t like it” rather than inventing problems and proving their own ignorance.

BSD is, FreeBSD and OpenBSD (and every other open-source descendant) are not unix-certified, so they are not. BSD was discontinued in 1995 so I assumed that was not what the meme is referencing.

Weirdly enough, I didn’t say it was my only way to store anything, nor that the program stores photos at all.

It syncs the photos from my devices, the storage for those photos is on a separate server (as is the NextCloud storage) that is encrypted and backed up to Backblaze B2.

Immich is a gallery and organization app that syncs from your devices, the underlying storage is whatever you provide.

This is probably a ridiculous question, but I usually stream from my laptop to my LG tv or my phone to any other tv, and I find that using my VPN keeps the casting output option from working. Like in Popcorntime, the Watch Now doesn’t show my tv, only the laptop app or VLC. On my daughter’s fire stick I can’t even cast to...
