The flap should stop the toilet from flushing once the tank is empty. You shouldn’t need to do anything manually to stop it. That’s why people are concerned that your toilet overflows. A single flush should never cause your toilet to overflow, even if it’s clogged.

Are you sure about that? I was under the impression it was the opposite and they were typically progressive scan video and were adjusted by the device for interlaced displays.

Yes. Most things can be done without the terminal, and when it’s required, 99% of the time you’ll easily find a guide with instructions you can just copy/paste.

I wouldn’t recommend it for my 78 year old mother who needs me to add her email account to her tablet, but anyone remotely computer-savvy can handle the transition.

The Linux community is generally very helpful and welcoming. If ever you can’t figure something out, someone somewhere will probably be willing to help.

Written, you could get a vague sense of what’s being said. Spoken, the two languages are absolutely not intelligible. You might pick up a couple of words that are close enough but definitely not enough to have anything close to a conversation.

Portuguese and Spanish are much closer in terms of intelligibility.
