penquin,

There are challenges where you have like 45 seconds to defeat a bunch of creatures to just open a chest. I hate those

penquin,

Man, those “into the frey” fights where you have 45 seconds to defeat 69474783748 creatures are so stressful. Also, those big ass monsters are very hard to beat. That’s stressful. That’s why I just go around the wild to collect foods and stuff. Lol

penquin,

Absolutely. I have a ton of games and solitaire is one of the ones I play to chill.

penquin,

Genshin impact on PC is a masterpiece. The colors on my 4k monitor are just out of this world. I don’t even do hard missions, I just go around the wild collect foods and stuff. So relaxing.

penquin,

They have another game? Damn, I’ll need to check it out. Thanks for bringing it up.

penquin,

They’re talking about the Debian installer.

penquin,

My bad, I haven’t run Debian based distros for a while. Run this instead

sudo apt-get install linux-headers-$(uname -r)

I’ve edited my comment

penquin,

Ok then, it’s probably the dkms shitting the bed. Follow this

penquin,

Then restart you machine. That normally needs to be done after installing virtualbox. See if it works.

penquin, (edited )

Try

sudo apt-get install linux-headers-$(uname -r)

Then reboot your machine. Virtualbox needs the kernel headers to work.

penquin,

I actually do have a laptop that runs windows. It has that shit hybrid Intel/Nvidia graphics that never worked out on linux so I had to put windows back on it. But I don’t/can’t play games on the laptop, it’s very weak and nothing works on it. My PC is pretty decent and I was thinking I can get a separate drive for windows in case I needed it for a game or something. I don’t know. It’s just an idea for now, nothing really major. I hate changing set ups/distro-hopping. Been working on this same endeavour OS install for over a year and it fits my needs perfectly except for the occasional games that just don’t run on Linux. Or a program like yesterday when I bought a new mechanical keyboard (red dragon) and there is no software for it on Linux. It didn’t even work through wine and other means. Ya know, shit like that.

penquin,

Thank you. It’s going to be a process. I want to dual but I want Windows to be on its own drive so it doesn’t touch anything else. I honestly don’t even want it near grub. I’m ok with going to it from the boot menu every time, instead of using OS prober and grub. I’ve heard some horror stories of windows just nuking grub and that would hurt badly.

penquin,

Nothing really major. Mostly curiosity and some times I’d run into a game that I like, but it doesn’t run on Linux. Eventually, I’d either figure out how to make it work, or just say fuck it and let it go.

penquin,

Man, I want to dual boot, but I’m scared shitless. I don’t want windows to fuck my 1.5 years work on my current set up. VM for now until I find a solid and “complete moron” proof tutorial to go forward.

penquin,

It IS if you use kde. Lutris looked all messed up on kde for me. And having a 4k screen didn’t help much. Heroic looks sexy AF. I like it a lot.

penquin,

I was forced to use heroic launcher because I couldn’t get genshin impact to run on steam from my games drive. It kept pushing it to my home drive and I didn’t want that. I’m now in love with heroic launcher(this is my first time ever using it). So beautiful and very practical. I also use it to install regular .exe files. Very solid. I’m going to donate to the project, that’s how much I actually like it 😄

penquin,

I truly hope so, because I’m definitely putting this DE on one of my devices.

penquin,

I’ve been waiting for this desktop to release patiently. I can’t wait to try it. I have one question that I never got to ask anywhere, how is this going to work with the whole Qt/GTK apps? Are things going to look weird like they do on (mostly) Gnome and (sometimes) KDE Plasma?

penquin,

I’d love for one of their devs to announce this or make a video about how it’s going to work.

penquin,

It technically still does if you use their theming app “Gradience”. I use it currently on my laptop. Pretty nifty little app. It still doesn’t theme the shell (the panel, the password box… etc), but it does theme even flatpaks most of the time

penquin,

I never had to set it up. I use endeavour OS and all I did was choose “btrfs” in the installer. That’s it. I just installed timeshift after that and ran it like normal. No issues. Installed auto snap and grub-btrfs and I’m in the races.

penquin,

Is there a difference between this and timshift/timeshift autosnap/grub-btrfs?

penquin,

Let’s hope it gets passed here, too.

penquin,

That is just the out of the box dock size in case you mess with it and want it back to the default size

penquin,
