Mitch Hedberg is one of the greatest comedians of all time. I loved his material, but he had some serious drug issues. I saw him 6 months before his death and he was totally trashed. He told maybe 5 jokes during his show. The rest of the time he was wobbling all over the stage and just acting like a drugged/drunk mess.

Not saying I don’t some times agree with the guy, but he peddles outrage. Every video is some gripe about something. I get tired of being angry some days. Just chill out man!

Yeah we need to start becoming aware of how our brains are being manipulated. If you’re angry, your fight or flight response is engaged and you give your attention to something (ie. click)

Agree. HBO is some high class, quality shit. Max is meaningless. I guess it corresponds with the CEO of Discovery channel coming in to wreck HBO in the same way he did Discovery.

Academic philosophy is mostly concerned with the Greeks and Germans. The Romans had their philosophers, but they did not have the same influence on modern thought.

Also, often times philosophers do use an original word or phrase because it cannot be translated well into English. Language evolves over time and concepts as they were originally understood can be lost or muddled by modern uses of a word used to substitute. Also, etymology is more and more important in philosophy.
