rambos, to homeassistant in Do I need a separate HA Cloud subscription for the cabin?

What do you get with subscription? I wasnt aware there is one

rambos, to selfhosted in Raspberry as NAS, multiple HDDs and an enclosure

Pi NAS is a big pile of cables and adapters IMO. You can buy used PC with multiple SATA or M2 ports for 100€

rambos, to piracy in Even more questions about used drives

Cant help much but you can also try asking in homelab and maybe selfhosted community.

rambos, to selfhosted in Best way to create my seedbox?

I moved from mullvad to airvpn for that reason and its lovely with my *arr stack. Next level torrenting

rambos, to piracy in Anyone using Lidarr?

I would rate radarr/sonarr with 10/10 and lidar 5/10. I dont think its bad, its probably too early stage or too hard to accomplish with music what radarr/sonarr can do with movies/shows. There are many artists/albums that dont exist in lidarr database and sometimes bad imports happen with wrong tracks. Yeah, and there is no jellyseer for music. I dont use it much, but I love it

rambos, to selfhosted in Help me get started with VPN

Not expert, but basically you should port forward wireguard port 51820 to your server, install wireguard server, create client(s) and load QR code (or config) on android/laptop and you are set. Pi hole DNS and everything else should work just like when you are on home wifi.

You can leave your CF for public access, but do you really need PF 80 and 443 if you are using CF tunnels? (I thought you dont, but I never used CF. Feels like its more safe to hve CF tunnels if you dont need to PF, but you have a middle man you have to trust)

rambos, to selfhosted in What's wrong with using cloudflared?

I dont use it, but video streaming is against their TOS. Other than that I just read good experience with them

rambos, to selfhosted in Reverse-proxying from a docker network

My NPM window looks the same as yours. Im not sure mate, I would try disabling firewall just to see is that the problem. Im not expert in that area and nothing else comes to my mind sorry. Im also running everything under one host

rambos, (edited ) to selfhosted in Reverse-proxying from a docker network

For homeassistant I had to add this in configuration.yaml

<span style="color:#323232;">http:
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> use_x_forwarded_for: true
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> trusted_proxies:
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> - 172.21.0.2
</span>

Where 172.21.0.2 is my NPM docker IP

Edit: its NPM IP and not HA like I wrote first time

Thank you for explaining

rambos, to linux in Help with Bluetooth on Pop!_OS

Im using anker soundcore bluetooth speaker on desktop PC. It was acting weird on windows, then I switched to PopOS and it became super smooth for more than a year. Turning on PC then speaker or the other way around it would always pair flawlesly. But since some update around a month ago its not always pairing automatically and sometimes I have to connect manually to get it working. Its not a big deal, but throwing it here in case someone knows a fix and even better if the same fix can help with OPs issue

rambos, to homeassistant in Share your favorite automations

Not really common automation for HA, but I made medication assistant automations. Its super helpfull for people who take loads of meds. It tracks how many pills left, does android notifications or sets alarm and it also sends an email when its time to reorder meds. Its insane how usefull it is

rambos, to selfhosted in Proxmox HA, Docker Swarm, Kubrenetes, or what?

OP can try power line if nothing else works

rambos, to piracy in Storage solutions

I have DIY All in One server made of desktop components. 250GB SSD for OS and container volumes, 500GB SSD for nextcloud and 12TB HDD (toshiba refurbished from Amazon) for media. At some point Ill make a raid, but for now sticking with the cheapest option with no issues (or just lucky). I backup nextcloud and docker volumes to HDD and to backblaze daily, but I dont need backup or redundancy for media (read: I dont see myself spending a lot of money for files that can be redownloaded anytime)

rambos, to selfhosted in Joplin alternative?

I love Memos and MoeMemos, but whenever my phone lose internet I cant open my notes. That made me move to Obsidin and Syncthing (for now)
