All you have to do is look at a map of how much land Israel was originally given vs. how much they have now.

So, does supporting Palestine automatically make you a tankie?

The price of convenience is always high.

Why? I do things that are inconvenient all the time. It’s inconvenient that I have to go to work 5 times a week in order to make money. It’s inconvenient that I have to get vaccinated so that my immune system is stronger. It’s inconvenient to have to meditate for 20 minutes a day to make my thoughts less scattered. And so on.

Did you read the words on the picture, too?

HDDs are only still around because SSDs are so expensive.

Well, scientists have studied this stuff, so you don’t need to guess. Anxiety is caused by trauma, not low self-confidence. However, anxiety can decrease your self-confidence, and increased confidence can lower your anxiety, so the two are linked.

I’m embarrassed to say that it never occurred to me that I could turn it off! Now that it’s off I wonder if anyting changes. It seems like it’s wrong more often than it’s right, but that could jus be confirmation bias.

I’m not a misanthrope or an introvert. I hate that question because I don’t want to tell people about my shitty day but I also don’t want to lie.

TIL that memes are a boomer thing now.

Zuckerberg had the same problem with his metaverse idea.

Although, to be fair, I don’t know if there really is a way to make that idea successful. Like flying cars, 3D interfaces are cool in sci-fi but impractical in real life

I swear matcha has its own culture. People bake with it. It’s crazy.

If we’re really being truthful, none of that stuff’s in the Bible.

seitanic,
@seitanic@lemmy.sdf.org avatar

Well, that’s embarrassing. I thought for sure that was one of those things that was created from extra-biblical sources.

This really makes me wonder about those Christians who claim that it’s faith, not works, that gets you into Heaven. This seems like a strong argument for the opposite.

Astrology is so complex, there’s always a way to give yourself an out. “Oh, I see why that one was wrong! I forgot to factor in the Perseid meteor shower.”

I don’t think I have to explain how more people having more available hours to work is a better societal alternative.

It’s only better if a human cashier can do the job better. Otherwise, you’re just making humans do money-work as an excuse to give them more hours.

For example, I could do everything at work on a pad with a pencil instead of using a computer. I would certainly have more hours!

The reason why that sounds insane is because everybody recognizes that using a computer is much faster and more efficient, so you should use that instead.

When I used to hang out, we would watch movies or play video games. I mean, we’d chat, too, but it wasn’t like a long conversation, usually.

At the end of the movie there’s a 1 second shot of two women kissing.

LOL. First I heard of this. I must’ve blinked and missed it.

I wouldn’t call that necessarily passing an ethics test. You could’ve wanted to say something, but were too lazy.

Not doing something wrong is different from doing something right.

Oh, okay. I had no idea. I was like “How far do I have to scroll to find out what reddit did this time?”

Wouldn’t affect me anyway, because I use an ad blocker.

To be fair, when people in the US think of a “pretzel”, those are the ones they think of. You can buy big bags of those in any supermarket. If you want to get a big, bready pretzel, you have to go to a restaurant.

I’m no historian, but I have a feeling there isn’t a lot of scholarship on Nazi bakers.
