Whenever I try to use GNOME, there never seems to be a setting for the thing I want to do.
I convinced a friend to try Linux once, and she abandoned it because it didn’t have a setting that she needed for her work. Later, when I tried KDE, not only was the setting there, but it was the default.
It really sucks that desktop is the default for so many distros, because most users coming from Mac or Windows don’t even realize they can use a different desktop environment. So, if your only experience with Linux is GNOME, and you think “Linux sucks”, I can hardly blame you.
That said, zero proof. Hence the conspiracy in conspiracy theory.
Conspiracies are real, and they happen all the time. A conspiracy is just a group of people colluding in secret. It has nothing to do with proof.
The problem I have with the term “conspiracy theory” isn’t the word “conspiracy”; it’s the word “theory”. These aren’t theories. They’re bullshit. “Conspiracy bullshit” sounds much better.
My favorite was when Bernie Sanders was called antisemitic for criticizing Israel. His response was something along the lines of “It isn’t antisemitic to criticize a right-wing government in Israel.” It must’ve taken all the patience in the world to not add “you fucking toolbags”.
How prevalent is veganism in India? Whenever I look at Indian food, it’s butter this and milk that. Sure, there are some very good vegan choices, but it seems to me that Indians love their dairy.
Bravery has nothing to do with it. It tastes good, and there’s no harm to any animals. So why not eat it? Denial for the sake of denial is not a virtue.
If you keep relying on meat substitutes, you haven’t let go of meat entirely, and it would be easy to get back to meat eating.
That’s like saying that if you enjoy shooting people in video games, then you’re one step away from shooting people in real life. I’ve been eating fake meats for almost a decade now, and I’ve never been tempted to eat real meat.
I know how horrible and senseless factory farming is, and I have images of the slaughtered seared into my memory from vegan documentaries. Why would I go back to that when I can have substitutes that are just as good, if not better?
Well, scientists have studied this stuff, so you don’t need to guess. Anxiety is caused by trauma, not low self-confidence. However, anxiety can decrease your self-confidence, and increased confidence can lower your anxiety, so the two are linked.
