Its easy to forget it cause the name is forgettable lol.

yeah basically. Its annoying af to build from source.

Sbopkg has a slackbuild queue generator sqg which builds the dependencies for applications in it for you. apart from that I’m trying to package ROCm.

A wild slacker appears.

Ubuntu. I just don’t like how they do things. I cant even maintain a repo for the machines i host without putting aside multiple terabytes of space. So to me they cant even make it reasonably easy for me to help them and be self reliant on their ecosystem.

Seems like there is no legitimate way for you to get that content. I guess youre forced to be a pirate!

Realistically there is an equation money lost by ad blockers vs money gained by making ad blocking harder (money in - dev cost) unless its about sending a message.

How do y'all deal with programs not supported on Linux?

I’ve been seeing all these posts about Linux lately, and looking at them, I can honestly see the appeal. I’d love having so much autonomy over the OS I use, and customize it however I like, even having so many options to choose from when it comes to distros. The only thing holding me back, however, is incompatibility issues....

If you must and you have the hardware maybe run Windows in a VM just for those applications. You can even suspend the vm state to resume from where you were.

How many of you run a Linux phone (Pine64, Librem etc) as your daily driver?

I was going through Pine64’s page again after I found the latest KDE announcement. With that said, I seem to see a lot of issues with firmware on the Pine, whilst the Librem is just plain out of budget for me. Was interested in how many people here run a Linux mobile as a daily driver, and how has your experience been?...

I thought it was all the Sherpas that died trying to get some rich fuck up there.

Those numbers seem really low for a hundred year of shenanigans. I am less concerned by the mountaineers that climbed it alongside Sherpas at one point, and am more poking at the rich dickheads who have created the climb Mt Everest industry where Sherpas make sure everything is safe before the dickhead even wakes up. All just to say they climbed the mountain. So maybe at least use statistics from the current decade. It took another 31 years since the first attempt made for an Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay to succeed.

But in the climb we are all family right? /s
