spiderman,

using clients like vendetta makes discord little better in android

spiderman,

vscode extension that summarizes Java’s exceptions for me so that I can easily find what’s wrong and which line caused it instead of scrolling through 100 lines of exception/error stack.

spiderman,

Deezer should spread out their services to more countries.

spiderman,

it also has loseless quality but the format is not flac but their own codec, so i don’t know whether we can call them truly lossless.

TachiyomiSY devs have announced to work on a new "spiritual successor" of Tachiyomi (ani.social)

This message has been posted on their discord server yesterday, currently the app is being worked on and has no definitive ETA. We probably have to use other forks until that. I don’t know whether I can share the discord server’s link so not sharing that until a mod gives heads up.

spiderman,

is it a tachiyomi fork or it just looks like one?

spiderman, (edited )

This was stated in their official announcement.

In the upcoming days:

  • Our core GitHub repositories will be taken down.
  • The official social media accounts will be closed.
  • The official Discord server will be repurposed into a general community for those who are interested in staying.
spiderman,

put the repo back and do what? you can make a fork before they take it down and maintain it yourself if you can. tachiyomi needs external extensions to do it’s job, even if it won’t be maintained anymore. and idt neither tachiyomi forks or external extensions will be for long too.

spiderman,

it still works for you because the external extensions are still working, all we can hope is for those external extensions to work properly until we get a proper replacement.

SY devs have announced to develop a new app that won’t be just a tachiyomi fork.

!@everyone Update we now have a name.
Mihon (見本), Logo is being made by the same guy who made Tachiyomi’s
Context: Coming to terms with the practice of ‘tachiyomi’ but not wanting to have all of their books flipped through, bookstores started designing books and magazines labeled ‘Mihon’ (ie. samples) for people who engage in ‘tachiyomi’.

spiderman,

I just downloaded TachiyomiSY before a week and I liked how it was better than TachiyomiSY in feature wise. I think Bobby is a dev who focuses more on features aspect. So if the other dev focuses on user interface, I hope it might be a good pair.

spiderman,

in no way if the dev can still work on aniyomi

spiderman,

more options are definitely good if the developers are different, i hope the devs aren’t burner out by developing two applications serving the same purpose.

spiderman, (edited )

I don’t know why they want to continue working on two different things when one clearly tries to be a successor.

spiderman,

even if they have our ip addresses, they can’t take any legal actions for discussing about piracy right?

spiderman,

yeah, they are trying to sue tachi since most of plugins were tachi’s own plugins. idk what the copyrights holders are going to do now since the unofficial plugins are out.

spiderman,

nahh we would rather use vpn. i have been using vpn for github ever since they have blocked raw github user content.

spiderman,

because most of the people only use public trackers and for public trackers you really don’t need anything besides vpn.

spiderman,

I buy all my music on Bandcamp.

How much have you spent on buying albums in Bandcamp? It must be a lot if Bandcamp is the your only choice for listening to music.

spiderman,

in simple terms, a private torrent site (that is closed to public). only users with an account can log in and use the torrents in the website.

each torrent that the users use has a unique passkey (consider it as an id) so that the site will know what torrents you have downloaded and how much you have seeded it back. they use these stats to monitor users, checking whether they seed for a certain amount of time and whether the users have the required ratio. why do they do this? to make sure that all torrents in their site is available to everyone (meaning there will be no torrents that has 0 seeders, rendering the torrent not being able to use anymore since no one seeds it).

there are guides out there, check out !trackers , maybe they might have a guide.

spiderman,

it will be an interesting cat and mouse game or people will start to shift to another video sharing platform

spiderman,

especially the sites that have academic questions and solutions for that but they are locked behind an account and then a subscription.

spiderman,

I thought twitter reverted that decision.
