I woke up in the morning at 11:47, and I can’t believe I have to face the horror of another fucking day.

I’ll believe any name you say is a real distro at this point.

I started this in my head sounding like the singer from Cake.

Is it possible to flash a new OS onto an old iPad 2?

I bought an old iPad2 for the purpose of viewing a Home Assistant dashboard via a web browser. My thinking was that the ability to browse the web was the sole requirement for a tablet for this purpose, but I was wrong: Home Assistant’s web pages apparently require a newer version of javascript than iOS 9.3.5 can handle, but...

Nope. Won’t work. It did back in the day, but nothing will run on it anymore because the OS version required won’t install. I have an iPad 2, I’ve tried.

No doubt, the hardware could run Ubuntu Touch, alas Apple are dicks like that.

Maybe we need a new distro that comes with vscode installed so we don’t have to do it!

Alright, I'm gonna "take one for the team" -- what is with the "downvote-happy" users lately?

Title. “lmao internet points” and all, but what is the point of participating in a community that sees assumptions and other commonly non-harmful commentaries/posts as “bad” this easily? Do folks in here are really that needy of self-validation, even if it means seeking such from something completely insignificant like...

A Sneak Peek at new linux distro Zorin OS 17

Made with shamrocks.

But, they have a new logo!

I use linux for the same reason I wear fuzzy socks and sweaters

My understanding of the history of fashion is that back in the 1950s America it was expected that you wore a suit/dress at work unless you had a different uniform. There were a bunch of very boring people who thought that we should be wearing office job garb all the time, because they wore suits so much it was their default...

I can’t find my job in my area for the amount of money it should be. So… those graphs aren’t reality here. 🤷‍♂️

Considering cost of living went up 20%, that’s not really covering it. I got a “double digit” raise, but I’m not making 20% more than 2019.

The iconic phrase “Brains!” associated with zombies is most famously from the “Return of the Living Dead” series. This horror-comedy franchise, which started with “The Return of the Living Dead” in 1985, diverged from traditional zombie films by featuring undead creatures that specifically vocalized their craving for brains. This particular depiction of zombies was a departure from earlier representations, where zombies typically didn’t speak and were not specifically focused on eating brains.

If he releases it for free then he’s amazing. If he tries to profit on it, then he’s part of the problem and we shouldn’t celebrate him.

This is how it feels when someone doesn’t like how you live your life.

Here’s me seeing $50 and thinking “for a dress?!” And assuming it was an inflation joke. 😵

They’re all assholes in this holy war.

Depends on the position. County Clerk, absolutely.

Oh it’s China, Russia, and maybe North Korea vs the rest. France will abstain, but supply weapons. The fight will be over Taiwan and whatever is left of Ukraine. Natural disasters may push it back to 2025 though. The warfare will be primarily new drone tech with ai swarming. The US probably won’t be too involved beyond thoughts and prayers and supplying weapons… unless a Republican wins, and then it’s the bomb.

Right. Google could have just looked that shit up voluntarily. I mean, it can’t be a long list.

tsonfeir,
@tsonfeir@lemm.ee avatar

There was a fire and maybe people who looked up that address could be further investigated.

Do you think that’s weak grounds? How could that specific and very small list of IP addresses violate a persons privacy?

I obviously haven’t read the warrant request, and it could have been worded pretty poorly.

tsonfeir,
@tsonfeir@lemm.ee avatar

search warrant that required Google to provide the IP addresses of anyone who had searched for the address of a home within the previous 15 days of it being set on fire

I’m fine with this. It’s specific to an actual crime that happened, and not targeting a known individual or preventing something that hasn’t happened yet, “for the children” or some nonsense like that.
