They could have easily crammed the Steam Deck full of stuff to make it hard to use for piracy - locking down everything, making it usable only to play games you legitimately own, force you to go through who knows what hoops in order to play games on it. That’s what Nintendo or Apple or most other companies do....
man I remember using a 8" windows tablet with a 3d printed mount to a xbox controller to be able to play steam games like hyperlight drifter, it was so cool at the time but man did it suck holding it for long and the performance was so bad for anything but the simplest game. after that I turned to steam link with my phone and a razer kishi controller, I setup a headless steam docker on my server to keep my games accessible and that worked pretty well when 5G came out but nothing really beats games running on the hardware you hold in your hand, at least not for a good while
10 years after Zod’s snapped neck, Martha, “some kinda Suicide Squad”, CGI moustache, rennouncing your wish, the hiearchy of power changing, and Speed Force PS1 graphics, the DC Extended Universe finally comes to a close. And it ends the same way it started - with a Rotten score....
Yeah for that reason I just have my YouTube subscription download and go to my plex server so I don’t have to deal with ads or algorithms and we have a discord channel where we share interesting videos so I find a lot of my content that way. For reddit I just stopped going there after the exodus except when doing searches and I can’t find what I’m looking for I’ll add reddit to the search query to see the comments and hope there’s an answer there
2024 is the Year of Linux on the Desktop, at least for my boyfriend. He’s running Windows 7 right now, so I’ll be switching him to Ubuntu in a few days. Ubuntu was chosen because Proton is officially supported in Ubuntu.
That was the first place I noticed it, thought it was really smart of them, someone would send me a meme or whatever and it would show their account at the top. Was impressed that they generate so many links, now they can see who knows who so easily
what gets me is the shear amount of paint there is, we drive about 30 miles and most of the way is like this with just little mounds of yellow dust and Im sure it all just washes away in the rain to places we dont want it to end up. Also apparently birds need to eat rocks and stuff to help break down food so they hopefully are just getting the little rocks and not the paint chunks
I think its a bit different with the internet on all devices now, games and tv and stuff like that is fine after the age of 3 or so but those micro-transaction addictive games and social media is something else you have to keep an eye on
I have a Galaxy Tab S7 and for a trip to Spain I downloaded some stuff to watch on the flight. When I got on the plane none of the stuff downloaded on Disney+ would play. Maybe an issue with downloading to the SD card? I don’t know, but regardless Disney offers SD card as a download destination so they should make sure it is...
if you streamed it at the proper bitrate you would be using a ton of data at 4k, even streaming from my own server to my tv sometimes is too much since my TV only has a 100mbit nic on it on films like 1917 the bit rate would spike on some scenes and it will start to stutter or stop playing all together, for that I had to use my xbox or maybe Ill invest in a roku or shield with a 1gb nic. but for regular streaming you might get the resolution in 4k but you’ll see in dark scenes these like squares and artifacts because of how its compressed down to be able to get to you through the internet while not annihilating your bandwidth
I use a bidet daily and sometimes theres still some poopy left after a few long sprays, I use toilet paper to dry off and do a check and then if its clean Im good to go, otherwise I hit it with some more sprays and check again. a few sheets of toilet paper is a lot better than no bidet but Im still not convinced a bidet by itself is good enough. at least here in the states bidets are simple bolt on squirters not a separate thing that might do a better job
I would like to start using RSS feeds but every client I’ve searched up has a subscription method of payment. Are there any RSS clients that don’t do this?
Struggling to find a lot of music with Lidarr (New/Recent/Modern). Have a few general public/private trackers set up but still not getting many hits. From what I gather Usenet isn’t much better. And I’m not really confident in transcoding, bit rates, etc… to attempt an interview....
I tried getting music through usenet and ended up just caving and joining my friends Spotify family plan because it was such a pain. I still have lidarr synced with Spotify so as I find new music it tracks it and tries to pull it but most fails

I feel like the Steam Deck is the best proof of Gabe Newell's quote that "piracy is a service issue."
