I’m saying:
A regular flat pizza is not a pie. It does not have a casing, and the “filling” is a topping, as you say.
A (Chicago-style) deep-dish pizza is a pie (more-so than a pizza in my opinion but whatever) because it has a bottom crust with filling on top (a pie according to Wikipedia). That’s not lunacy. It’s right there on Wikipedia, with even a link to Chicago-style deep-dish pizza.
A calzone is a pie because it has crust both on top and on the bottom (surrounding the filling), as well as filling inside.
This is not “lunacy”. It’s just reading a definition and interpreting things to fit the definition. 🤷♂️ If you think that’s lunacy I’d hate to tell you about Pluto. A pie with crust on the bottom is very common. Meat pies, and pastry pies, among many others. Crust on bottom is common, crust on top is common. Crust all around is common… Not lunacy.

Read further. The page also says the crust can be on the bottom and the filling on top/inside, as well as crust on top, filling underneath, or both (calzone). So a deep dish pizza is a pie, technically.
Haha yeah they look ridiculously deep. I can’t imagine how they wouldn’t be kind of soggy with all that filling but I guess it works. Seems to be popular, eh. Would love to try a slice.

Yeah I’ve seen some purist Italians talk about pizza on YouTube. Definitely very different (and more tasty) than the pizza I make at home with my family. 😅 Wish I had a stone oven or even room for one of those small modern ovens, to make good pizza in.
In my defense, if it were ever necessary, I’m planning on getting a setup where I have some sort of NAS + Pi thing that together forms a seedbox and Plex media server. Right now my desktop PC has both jobs. Poor thing has been running basically nonstop since 2020.
It’s not a shame because of the amount of people we know, or how many people there are in total, that want to self-host email. It’s about the fact that it’s so difficult to set up, and hard to secure. I just wish it were simpler and more secure by default so that more people could roll their own and break free from ad-ridden and privacy-invading email services. 👍

Probably more in the continental Europe, right? Or further east? I feel like Scandinavian people are quite clean and take responsibility for trash. We have a good community system as well I think. Garbage is collected and disposed.
I dunno. Sometimes it bothers me how people don’t sort their trash correctly in the correct bins, like how hard is that? But at least they bring it there, right? 🤷♂️
